Loving our neighbour makes sense, as we must live alongside our neighbour. Our neighbour will be less prickly when we extend ourselves on their behalf. However, we’ve all hear stories of neighbours who terrorise their neighbour to the extent they drive them out. Loving this neighbour who jeopardises the peace and well being of ourselves and our family is something else. We know there is no exception to this commandment, but guidance in this regard would be helpful.
@ToddSauve3 жыл бұрын
God has given us many examples in the Bible of how "neighbours" who are wicked are to be dealt with. They are to be punished by the appropriate authorities. Unfortunately, wickedness is growing in frequency and is everywhere in our rapidly degenerating society. Oftentimes there isn't much you can do to protect yourself from evil neighbours except move somewhere else. But God does not forget what these people have done and will punish them according to their deeds. It will be "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" because the punishment must fit the crime. He may choose to punish them in this life or He may wait until the resurrection to do it. But if they do not repent of their evil ways, He WILL punish them because He is a God of justice. In the meantime, pray for them and ask God to lead them to repentance.

“Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you” Loving your neighbor means loving EVERYONE and EVERYBODY, even ourselves, but in a humble and GOD glorifying way, self care and caring for others in not a selfish or people pleasing way but in a GOD GLORIFYING WAY ❤️😊 We were all created in GOD’S IMAGE and HE called it “VERY GOOD” ❤ We can love those who hurt us or who haven’t yet repented or turned to JESUS any praying for them. Pray for a change of heart in that person. “If you brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.” You can rebuke but out of LOVE, GRACE, MERCY, and a FORGIVING HEART, if that doesn’t work, prayer is always a good thing as well! “For what is impossible with man is possible with GOD” GOD CHANGES and even LOVES even the worst and still unrepentant sinners, and GOD’S LOVE leads to REPENTANCE and RENEWAL ❤😊 Hopefully this helped you, may the LORD bless and keep you ❤🙏🏼🫶🏼😊

Love your neighbor as yourself means: move beyond any differences between others, and Love them as you would Love someone who was just like you, someone with whom you have no differences; which would be no one, since you're the only one in the world that you don't have differences with.
@Vargolis Жыл бұрын

Also: Learn how to love yourself like you love your neighbor. Because the biggest problem is that many people don't love themselves. They feel like they have let themselves and others down. They feel like they are not good enough to be loved. They feel broken and out of energy. Because all those negative feelings and thoughts are draining their energy. Many people are in need of love because they feel hurt 💔 and feeling hurt can make them blind for the needs of others. The trick is, that people who do love themselves don't spend time draining their energy on negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors. We are like batteries with a positive and a negative pole. The only way to get more energy, is to spend more time on positive thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Doing that, makes you feel so much better. You have more time and you feel so energetic that it becomes easy and enjoyable to give love to others. God is (in) everything, so love yourself like you love every other piece of God. Love yourself like you love your neighbors. Pure intentions and unconditional love will solve anything.

Great question. No, we cannot fully love our neighbors with "human" love. To truly love others we must have God's love in us as we see in Romans 5:5 and other Scriptures.

@@Journeyman.JN1 if christian churches taught to elevate concern for others, then why were so many christian churches ADAMENT that they hold crowded indoor maskless services during a HIGHLY contagious disease? and what is this arrogance that ONLY YOUR god is the one who gives you a pathway to empathy? have you never heard of buddhism? do you think NO OTHER religion has morals of self sacrifice or social service? if human nature wanted to only take care of itself, there would be no family structure. because humans have a natural empathy towards each other, and even to non humans at times, we usually construct our morality codes around altruism and empathy.
@sebcw12043 жыл бұрын
@@Journeyman.JN1 morality is a concept held within a physical mind. of course evolution influenced it. all behavior has been influenced by the physical. morality is a code of socially acceptable behavior. behavior takes place in the physical realm. and as no human can know the mind of another, we suffice with regulating behavior, call behavior we like "moral", and threaten those who behave "immoral" with some form of punishment. anything that IS a concept has been influenced by evolution BECAUSE our brains were FORMED by evolution. you would not even be able to FORM concepts if natural selection hadn't pressured our ancestors to become smarter.

Yes, usually people who quote that leave out verse 10... Ephesians 2:10 (KJV) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. ...we should walk in good works. Anyhow, this video was about how to love, so this really didn't apply to the subject matter at hand. Though it did cover how to love God, and that is by obeying His commands. One verse does not eliminate another.

It sounds like you simply don't want to repent of YOUR OWN evil ways. Repentance IS NOT just ceasing to do evil (breaking the 10 commandments) it is replacing our evil ways with GOOD WAYS! This is the point you are skipping over, whether in ignorance or because you are defiant towards God and self-justifying. YOU must put in some effort! Moreover, none of us can satisfy God's standards unless we repent and turn our lives over to God and get baptised. Then God will give us His Holy Spirit which gives us the strength to do what is right. None of us can do it by our own might or willpower. We NEED God's spirit living in us to lift us over the desire to sin. He gives us both the desire and strength to overcome sin. It will work just as well for you as it has for the multitudes of people whom God has perfected before us throughout human history.
