As a Madrid fan, every season I was waiting for his remontada. I didn’t stop believing in him until this summer when he was released. It’s a tragedy that it didn’t work out for him. Truly a special player

100 percent, was the best player in that league for 2-3 seasons before coming to chelsea and then was on top of the prem for 7 years bar that one season where all chelsea was shite.

Much like Suarez for Liverpool or Mahrez for Leicester, Hazard was an entertainer, I miss those type of players. They played the game in such a way it made other players look like they weren't grown pro's. They always looked so much better than everyone else

Lyes loved this you’ve said everything I’ve been arguing with rival fans for years you can only appreciate him if you tuned in every week to see his impact rather than blindly looking at stats sheet I think consensus on him really changed after WC 2018 before that a lot of people used to tell me he’s inconsistent or overrated 💯

People say CR7 was the most entertaining player back in 2008 but for me E.Hazard is the most entertaining player in EPL history. One the reason he doesn't have many more g/a is because when Chelsea was leading he just didn't bother to create or score more he just held himself back. His mentally was 'as long as Chelsea are winning I don't care about my stats' . Also he was unlucky with the managers Chelsea had - most of them defence minded managers. Look at his last season in the prem under Sarri(attacking minded manager) he was magical to watch. A lot of his magics came during that season and he even said it himself that Sarri was the best manager he played under

This is a phenomenal video my G. I feel like a lot of people overlook his statistics aswell. This guy was getting double digit goals and assists playing in defensive systems every single year bar the sarri year. His conversion rate was absolutely fantastic in comparison to other top players in the league…so many times he was 1 vs 1 with the keeper and would somehow find a pass to someone who would absolutely make a mess of it. When that man shot, he was definitely gonna be scoring. Imagine if he played in a front 3 like city with sterling aguero and sane or firmino/salah/mane…he had willian (good player but nothing special) and costa (both title winning seasons his goals dried up january/February). Oh what could have been had he been paired with truly world class attackers. He was a phenomenal passer long and short, best dribbler the prem has ever seen, and great finisher (when he actually shot). Definitely the player thats moved me the most as a Chelsea fan and ive seen them all, before him joe cole and malouda used to get me going….little did i know id see one of the greatest players the prem has ever seen (not saying hes the best) but if you don’t acknowledge hes in the top 25 based on a mixture of talent and achievements…you shouldn’t watch the sport

Wow Lyes is very well spoken and articulate, this man can convince you about anything with the way he speaks 😂great video, reminded how good hazard really. We as football fans forget how good players were and we are over reactionary cos we just live in the moment and make opinions based on how players perform right now in the moment whether good or bad to point we forget how good they were in the past.

As a Chelsea fan being able to watch Hazard week in and week out was truly an honor - his contribution to the team even without G/As was just incredible and even now we're lacking that sort of impact within the squad. Although both things in his hand (work ethic) and out of his hand (injuries) led to his demise, I still hope he doesn't retire just yet, maybe playing back in Belgium, a non T6 team in the Prem like Willian at Fullham or in Saudi/MLS. Another great video Lyes🫡

Another great watch. Joy and entertainment above everything! That 2018 World Cup was ludicrous... I hope he doesn't retire. The options of MLS and Saudi are obviously there for him. But maybe a return to Lille or even playing in Belgium might be good for him? I think there's something so romantic about these former stars returning "home" to be a bigger fish in a smaller pond. Couldn't blame him for retiring or cashing in though either.

Football will miss him. It's sad to see with all these players of the previous era leaving the sport, unforgettable footballer. One of a kind. I'm guilty of not appreciating him as much because of the Alexis-Hazard debate during their PL days but I'm not stupid enough to downplay everything he does. He'll be missed for sure.

Great watch. It's a shame he wasn't able to live up to his potential in Madrid. As a Madridista i predicted that the transfer wouldn't work but not for what eventually happened. I didn't see the injuries and mentality taking their toll on him, I figured he would have failed as a bad tactical fit since we were tryna get a goal scoring winger to fill the goal void. It'll be interesting to see what he decides this summer coz I reckon he could still ball at a lower club. Just going somewhere comfy like what we saw some players do like David Silva going to Real Sociedad and other such moves etc

Dude's work ethic killed his career off early Heard so many stories at Chelsea about how lazy he was and relied on sheer talent. When he turned 30 after a serious injury talent wasn't enough.

What a joy to watch. Vs Arsenal in the 14/15 season when Chelsea won 2-0 at home. If Koscielny doesn't foul him for a penalty, he scores a goal which is almost a copy and paste of the West ham goal.

Issue with Hazard was, apparently in training Jon Obi Mikel called him the laziest player he'd ever trained with. Add that to his rumoured love of hamburgers and its easy to see how he fell out of form/lost shape etc. He reminds me of Ronaldinho, but he achieved so much more than Hazard but also had his distractions. If he's kept his head down and become focused, he could have been a top 3 in the world player. Issue was, his brilliance flashed in the PL but it was for quite a short period. He should have left Chelsea in 2017/when they won the league with Conte.

I find it crazy how people are trying to discredit his legacy, led his team to titles at 19 for lille whilst getting 15+ goals and 15+ assist seasons. And also he has longevity, people who deny this only believe longevity starts at the age of 28. He is a hall of famer and no one can change that.
@samheard515
@samheard515 Жыл бұрын
I think consistency and longevity are different. Consistency can occur from a young age or even the mid 30s. Longevity is when a player ‘outlasts’ many other players who retire during their early-mid 30s. A player like Giroud has longevity, while never being an elite player but at the same time a player like Mbappe has shown incredible consistency despite being far younger than Giroud.

To put it simply... Hazard to Chelsea, wad what Gerrard was to Liverpool in the 10 years leading up to Alonso joining... the difference is Hazard was surrounded by international stars and trophy winners. Gerrard was surrounded by average players or young potential or good players beyond their best... Hazard stood out and made the same impact on Chelsea that Gerrard made in his early years .. I dont remember who it was against... but Hazard picked the ball up on the half way line and made a diagonal run, taking on 2 men and running into trouble, he dribbled back out wide before bursting towards the box and smashing a goal from 25 yards.. I put that right up there with Gerrards goal vs West Ham in the fa Cup. Chelsea were down and out, Hazard was visibly tired and ran into the ground carrying the team... but one moment of instinct and a few seconds later Chelsea won the game... thats how I would say most fairly stamps Hazards status... somewhere between Gerrard and Henry is the basic description... but Henry without the goals and assists, or Gerrard without the game winning moments, everything else they consistently added to the squad. Hazard was HIM

It's not to undermine Mourinho at his best. And he himself said how heavily he relied on Hazard and focused on building around his ability... but I feel Mourinhos management style at tactics, cost Hazard, in terms of the general memory of him.. while if he worked with Klopp or Pep, he would shine beyond deniable opinions... catch 22, too big for shoes, too small for the boots

Oi oi oi. Talking longevity there is only one name that is unmatched and he blows Zlatan out the Water. Retiring stil playing at the top level because of injuries probably being able to play a couple more years. Stanley Matthews retired at 50. Won the inaugural balon dor at 41, retiring from england at 43. Oh and lets not forget he lost 6 years from 24-30 to a bloody world war.
