Today, Valeria welcomes Kelsey Kreppel, a preschool-teacher-turned-content-creator and entertainer, to chat all about her current pregnancy and the anticipation and fear that comes with being an expectant first-time mom. Kelsey shares her pregnancy experience, the challenges that come with it, and the joys, fears, and anticipation of her son’s upcoming arrival. Being a first-time-mom can be scary and lonely, but Valeria gives Kelsey her best tips on how to navigate this new season of life without losing your sense of self along the way.
Valeria shares with Kelsey her honest and realistic advice on the “fourth trimester”, what to expect postpartum, how to handle being humbled as a mother, and not falling into doom traps of birth experiences and advice on the internet. Kelsey also shares the approach she and her husband, KZbinr Cody Ko, take when sharing their lives as influencers and the precautions and boundaries they’ll have to think about as new parents in the public eye.

I was never able to have children, and now turning 55. I’m finding this time in life a little weird as I see my friends with grandchildren and how that fills their lives. I’d love a conversation on how a woman’s life is impacted with purpose and the world’s perception too.

I do like Kelsey for her very chill and comfortable content but you can tell that she doesn’t bring a lot of deep thoughts and topics to the table. Very different to Valeria, she definitely guided the whole conversation and gave it more meaning!

Loved Kelsey's thoughtful and balanced responses. To be honest I did not enjoy Valeria steering the conversation towards difficult things about becoming a mother, for the most part - I felt like it was a bit inconsiderate towards Kelsey. I would've appreciated a more encouraging and supportive tone from an experienced mother to a first-time mom - I think there's a way to do that while still being open and honest about the struggles. Great conversation regardless ❤

2:22 there's a beautiful important thing that Kelsey is mentioning, that could lead the conversation further, but then there's a cut to a next Valeria's question. I find some few more cuts like this in this episode. I don't necessarily think Valeria is at fault, it just seems flow is lacking, weather it's the interview of the cut. I know it's not always possible to achieve tho.

I appreciate this so much. Beautiful podcast. I'm getting too old to have kids and I really never had this feeling of definitely wanting to be a mom. I still have no desire to be one and I'm thinking is this a mistake or am I meant to be childless since I'm not craving to have a baby. Maybe I'm just a bad person??😅 Maybe it's just not for everyone? I feel like my life is whole as it is. A tiny part of me is a little concerned if I'm going to heavily regret this childlesness when I'm older. I really don't think I will, but people have warned me.. so I'm scared!! Anyone else like this? 🙃

It depends. Maybe you are not with the right partner? You could always try to freeze eggs to be able to decide later based on where you are in the world. Good luck ❤

Don't ever let people project "their" feelings and fears onto you. That's how we've been programmed and mostly it has ended badly for us. I too don't have kids and I'm not old for it but there is no need and I feel content with myself.❤

In my opinion the guest is speaking too much about abstract things that aren't informative or useful...

All I want to say is I highly disagree. Motherhood is so much more than concrete things. I have a feeling this talk was not only for us but also for themselves too. It just got recorded and we as an audience have a possibility to be a part of their insightful discussion. 😌

@@annamarihiljanen5221 well, the title and contents had very concrete points that attracted my attention, but by the middle of the conversation I realised I’m wasting my time and getting bored. I agree that it sounds like a “private conversation” rather than a high quality podcast. It’s fine tho, glad it was useful for you :)
