The Fox and the Hound (1981) Final Battle with healthbars

There, Slade and Copper close in for the kill, but a grizzly bear emerges and attacks Slade. Slade trips and falls into one of his own traps, dropping his gun slightly out of reach. Copper attempts to fight the bear but is no match for it. Not willing to let his former friend die, Tod intervenes and fights the bear until they both fall down the waterfall.

I like how only one or two of Tod and Copper's attacks actually did any damage, and even then it was pretty minimal. For the most part all they could do was draw its aggro away from someone else. I wonder if Todd, Vixey, Copper, and Chief (let's say he joined this hunt) with perfect cooperation could whittle it's health down.

Ever since watching this as a kid, and now that I go hunting a lot as an adult, THIS is why I always carry a side arm or a secondary gun (nothing too heavy, mostly my AR pistol chambered in .300 blackout) cause God forbid my 30.06 gets knocked out of my hands, I at least still have a chance

Tod has to save Copper and his owner (not anymore as foe), Amos or Copper would've died (nor would Tod has fell to the waterfall with bear). One less man or dog is no concern about, they're still an enemies against him, incapable feeling without a doubt.

To this day I give credit to Disney for this conflict of a scene. It deserves all that and more, bears are freaks of nature in their own rights. To fight one takes guts, brains and whole lotta luck; especially an angry one. The only thing that takes down a bear besides a gun is a Tiger or a great white shark.

Copper was definitely below half when he yelped. The trap should have had more of an effect on Amos also. And Tod should be lower when was flung onto the log.
