Just to add, actually ten people survived the war. Seven on Pandavas side: Five Pandavas, Krishna, and Satyaki. Three on Kauravas: Kripa, Ashwathama, and Kritavarma.

Ah okay. But neither Kripa nor Ashwathama were of Kuru dynasty though. Kripa served the Hastinapur court and Ashwathama was more of a friend to Duryodhona and joined their side as his father duty bound him as well.
