When I started out I used to obsess over making things super high quality, and I kind of fell out of love with producing because it made it really hard to be spontaneous and creative. Coming back to electronic music years later, I've really enjoyed learning from high-profile producers who value creating a 'vibe' above anything else - like you said, you don't need the best tools before you can start making art. The fading in and out on the filter is very similar to the idea, in classical music, of making sure the music is breathing. That it feels like it's being sung from a human, the way humans have to take breaths while singing.

I suffer from depression too, or used to. One thing that helped me was reading the first chapter of Ekhart Tolle's 'Power of Now.' This really had a huge positive effect on my mind, like a sudden rewiring, very bizarre. I then read the book again twice and make use of some of the philosophy within. This might not work for all, but I thought that I'd share it with you, in the hope that you'll at least give it a try. It's not a huge chapter, and is easy to understand. The rest of the book is a little more complex but still useful and insightful. Hope you can find a way to overcome your troubles... I too find creating music absolutely awesome and this channel really can get me on the right frame of mind first thing in the morning when I am seeking ideas and inspiration for a new track I am making. All the best... if you decide to try my suggestion, then I'm happy to chat through with you any questions you might have. Give it a go, it might be really helpful like it was for me. ;-)

The "dropstep" (I don't know either how to call it), can be very powerful. I like to skip the kick (alone or with other elements) on the first beat, it gives the feeling that the floor is suddenly falling (la terre se dérobe sous tes pieds)... It works even better on slower tempo ! Another alternative is to leave only the kick (and a shortened bass), and to bring everything back together on the next snare (3rd beat usually). I agree with your point about low quality vs. high quality being just "a vibe". Some of my favorite songs I've ever made or worked on had some of the elements or even the main element (melody or lead vocal) start off from a low quality place and then processed to be beautiful, or sometimes even just pasted into the track candid as a sample or element and its just a reminder that not every work of art has to be this big bold and brash piece. Sometimes things can be simple, rough around the edges, and still be pretty and beautiful.

This is spot on. Gold techniques applied on a trending electronic music artist simple but effectively explained. I already know I will be spending lots of money on your masterclasses and courses 🥲 The first tip with the 3rd and 5th note on the scale is an absolut banger tip, in 3 years of watching YT tutorials i havent found another tip regarding best practise notes/ chords for techno or likewise music. This is great content. Enough said. Something I am still missing out there in the galaxy of YT tutorials is tutorials regarding the new high frequency stabs sounds lots of NEW melodic techno song have like Consciousness of Anyma & Chris Avantgarde . Most PROPER melodic techno tutorials are 2-3 years old, the the lead, bass and stab techniques are outdated. If you could do THAT @Oscar, i might as well hang up a poster of you in my bed room hahaha. Thank you so much, keep up the great work! :)
