@@michellemckenna9568 I agree 100%!!! If we could only inform the public out in the world...we would catch him. I bet he went to a place he is familiar with...ie Florida, USA or some place in America. I don't think a third world French speaking country as there are poor and he is accustomed to good life. He has to have his cigars. He could get lost easily in the US or Canada. The French authorities should have sent his DNA and finger prints to the FBI to keep a look out for him. I don't think he would risk staying in Europe. Why did he pick that last destination in France? What kind of ships come there? That would give a clue where he went. Sadly the French police screwed up assuming he unlived his life. They should have used psychologists who would tell them that a true narcissist like him would never do that! They assumed he had a mind like them with a conscience and unlive himself. KZbin does not allow the s word. He can be found!!! They need to look at his habits, the type of cigars he liked, the business he enjoyed, his extravagant lifestyle he enjoyed and where he could find it out of France, sadly the French police screwed up and look below standard. Sad.

Narcissists are extremely dangerous, usually, but more so when their facade is about to be exposed. What a pos. Those beautiful children and his lovely wife, and their pet dogs. This is heartbreaking, those poor beautiful children and their Mum. The bodies were later exhumed and proofed beyond doubt that it was indeed the children and their Mum. I think that he is alive and that he deliberately withdrew money with his credit card etc to lead police on a wild goose chase and to leave everyone with the doubt that he had ended his life in the mountains in the surrounding area. I think that the children and his wife deserve justice so that they can rest in peace.

thanks for the video ! I am French and I would like to make a little remark about the "aristocracy" in France. As we have made the Revolution in 1789, and as there is no more king in our country, there is no more real aristocracy also, the titles as "count", "marquee" and all that bs are fictional ! so the father of Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès could have been a count, but in fact he was not .... If XDDL is still alive, he could hide in a monastery as he had some links to some conservative religious "cults". But I strongly believe that he is dead, he had zero money to escape, and he didn't want to be recovered to avoid more shame (crimes + a suicide) to his family and to maintain a certain "mystery haze" around the case (it has more or less worked, his sister believes that the family is in the US)

You’re wrong about the tittle they are not fictional but honorary titles and part of some lignage I strongly believe that he is alive no need for him to meticulously prepare and hide the murder of his family if he wanted to take his own life and he had a lot of time to put aside some money for his escape His best friend too is certain that he is alive somewhere….

@@geraldinej2789 for "honor"and maybe religious reasons he didn't want that his crimes would be discovered , and maybe he thought that the corpses would stay undiscovered for ever. About the titles : they are "honorary" but the point of aristocracy is to have a "power" over a land, a country for a king, and a county for a count, etc, they came with privileges over justice, money, etc ... Having no power (and no incomes) over a land is senseless. It is a nutshell .. and nobody cares ! About the point : is he alive or not, this is impossible to respond until a body is discovered, but in our world, hiding for almost 15 years is very difficult .....

@@geraldinej2789 actually there is a reason for the deception and to be meticulous. besides the fact that man was clearly bat sh*te crazy.. all that catholicism. Mortal sin. Potentially he sees suicide as irredeemable shame to the family.. but murdering not quite as bad. he can justify it if he wanted to "I was protecting them.".. A family annihilator...I am reminded of the horrific story of John List, who murdered his mother, wife and three children and then managed to disappear for almost 18 years (even remarrying!) before finally being brought to justice. These men (it's usually, but not always men...Susan Smith comes to mind...) are selfish, self-centred and psychotic. The scary part is that they appear completely normal and sometimes even decent and kind before they commit their atrocious deeds. It is almost impossible to predict when something this horrific and terrifying will occur, because the perpetrator rarely gives out clues as to his intentions. Oddly, however, this fellow was throwing out red flares that no one paid attention to. I cannot understand that at all.

KZbin has stopped posting my comments again. Their system is a mess. if you write one word that it suspects it censors you!! So damn ridiculous!! Why can't they fix the problem??? Appalling!!!

What I have always wondered since watching this case on unsolved mysteries is why there wasn't a drop of blood, a shred of dna or finger prints in the entire house where allegedly the murders were executed? Why is there not a single piece of physical evidence linking him to the crime? Or is there and I am wrong?

@@La_Pascualita I think he did it, but it is very strange how he was able to “disable” 5 people with sleeping pills, to where he could put a bullet in their heads, with so little evidence of a massacre taking place. Didn’t the gendarmes/police find any bullet holes … anywhere? Any blood spatter? Either we don’t have all the information or he did a helluva clean up job.

Until they find his body I'm assuming he's in the US somewhere, since that is where he always wanted to live anyway. Southern France and northern Italy are known for organized crime that traffics false passports and fake identities, I think that may be why he headed south. BTW, he looks JUST LIKE one of my old French bosses. He just has that 'regular French guy' look all around. The whole family had that look.
