Poor that the audience didn't give this man a standing ovation. Everything he said was completely true, yet this audience of snobs laugh it all off with Pats joke at the end. The passion he shows is the type of passion that more people in this country should have to overthrow the Pat Kennys of this world who suck money out of this country. Fair dues to the man. He's right you know. It's so damn frustrating that people like him are on the salaries they're on and for what? While the line gets bigger by the day, Kenny's harping on about what "fair" is. Put him in the shoes of say a family who's parents had jobs that earned enough to get them by week to week and had those jobs for years when suddenly their cut without so much as a thank you.

The man, despite his shouting, does raise an important issue. RTE is a publicly funded body and as such surely the pay and conditions of its top earners should be called into question. Why is an RTE presenter paid the equivalent of thirty nurses, or firemen or teachers? I think Pat should have at least made an attempt to defend himself himself rather than retreating into an ad break. No one is above question in these challenging times.

The bigger issue here is why are RTE paying so much just to stop their top stars from going elsewhere. It's from a license fee that is compulsory in this country. If they get paid 150K or so, and go elsewhere, we can still watch them but pay much less in license fee for the privalege. T=Your man is right, if a little too angry!!!
