Obviously the real answer to why wolf is in the space wolves lexicon so much is because GW wasn't very creative. But I do like the damage control / retcon lore that says the reason the word shows up so much in "Gothic" (english) it's because it's being improperly translated from Fenrisian. So for the actual space wolves they're saying like 30 different words, but imperial translators translate all of them as "Wolf"

Interestingly even this does. It’s just modified Russian-English. Волк is pronounced “Volk” and means wolf. And Fenryka is just another example of the same transliteration, over the base Fenris.

As I have said before unique units are a favourite of mine. Unique weaponry is no different especially in a setting where a lot of the factions use the same base technology. It helps factions standout and gives characters ways to easily standout during fight scenes. Hopefully we will see SW Primaris get frost weapons as the SW get chapter specific stuff.

I love how all the other chapters have like, slightly better or secret patterns of dreadnoughts or power armor, but only a couple each. But SW out here with enough unique materials to hand out unique elements to all the chapters and have some left over

Theres a Space Wolf in the deathwatch who was pretty new with only a few Deathwatch missions under his belt and he had one of these with the whole "chainsword teeth made of Kraken teeth" but before a mission he was complaining that his chainsword wasn't in top shape as it had some broken teeth and he need more kraken teeth to replace the broken ones. I cant imagine how long itd take for a shipment of some teeth to get from Fenris to his Watch Station lmao. It may be a legendary blade but id rather something easier to repair when not near Fenris lol

Oh I do hope there’s a frost chain hammer! They’re a classic and not often used warhammer weapon that’s basically a row of saws fitted into a hammerhead! That thing would turn foes into chunks of ice with each blow. Sure it’s not as explosive as a thunder hammer, but imagine getting frozen, sawed into and bludgeoned, ALL AT The SAME TIME!

Technically it gives you instant frostbite. Sure it´s not the same as having a wound gushing blood, but having a part of your body being flash frozen into a solid piece? yeah i cant imagine that being all to fun to deal with either.
