Walking in the Spirit is simply resting in who we are in Christ and the promises we have in him. By knowing our new identity in Christ. We grow spiritually and live the Christian life by FAITH. The same way we were saved. We don’t live the Christian life by going back to the works of the Law for the perfecting of the flesh. Galatians 3:1-3 KJV O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? [2] This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? [3] Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

What do you do with verses that say that we should do good works in keeping with repentance as God has ordained for us to do. And all the other exhortations about how to serve God as believers. Not for salvation but for reasonable service???

Good works are nice and should be done out of the goodness of hearts. one hears good news, it typically makes them want to be kind

@@gregorylatta8159 I’m not against good works. But any “good works” that we do are coming from Jesus Christ because he is our life now. It’s not about US striving to do good or earning rewards. As long as it’s not fleshly motivated good works are fine. It’s letting Jesus work in and through us to accomplish HIS will.

My daughter in law is such a pastor she thinks you can have a same sex partner and be saved

I would say a person could be saved but completely out of fellowship with God. I would expect extreme chastisement to the believer.

Is a pastor who prays for a homosexual to die without Christ even saved?!
@BibleLine2 ай бұрын
That’s an interesting question, but the answer is simple. 1) Pastors should pray for people TO BE saved. 2) Homosexuals can be saved. 3) Bad prayers don’t make someone less saved. 4) Main Point: Salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone plus nothing else. Therefore anyone can be saved by believing in Jesus Christ for the full payment of their sins. - Trent

@@BibleLineIt seems really difficult to believe that any Christian would even think of such a thing about anyone. If someone professes Christ but there is little change and they live like an unbeliever.. is it possible that one is not regenerate and is not truly saved? Is there such a thing as a false convert?
@BibleLine2 ай бұрын
You have either believed or you haven’t -> John 3:18. There is no qualifier to belief. Salvation is the belief that Christ has paid one’s sin debt by his DBR. Eternal life is applied to the individual who simply believes in Christ for paying their sins. - Trent

@@BibleLine Thank you for replying. Yes, I think so but so many Christians I know think that we can lose our salvation. I find it confusing. I've walked away from groups that believe this and said, "I can't do this." The belief that salvation can be lost seems to be really prevalent in Christendom but isn't it one of the basic tenets of Christianity that we should all agree on?

There’s a very big demonic presence that confuses the message every day. Don’t you think Satan wants to complicate the message as much as he can? - Trent
