I like burst lasers with fire beam on pre igniter. Start of the fight their entire ship is on fire lol. And targeting the rooms with crew in them reduces their hp enough that they wont try to fight a fire

Stealth B is also a pre igniter dream. My 3rd best score run was in Stealth B and I named the ship "pre-igniter pls". Got over 6000 which is a really high score for me

"Oh cool an old FTL montage" *Helldivers 2 Difficulty image* HOLD UP I'm glad this game is still getting the attention it deserves. Also that first streak up until the Zoltan fight really sums up a lot of FTL. Either you sweep the ships effortlessly, or they turn into painful slogs that you literally just stop micromanaging and just accept the 5+ hull damage because the game clearly decides you're not sweeping now. This reminds me of 2 great pre-igniter runs I had. One ended with 2 Flak II and 2 Flak I, which was basically a speedrun as everything died in 1 or 2 shots. The other one ended with 3 burst laser II, I did have 4, but I found a Vulcan Chain Laser and couldn't resist. Once somethings shields were down they never came back up.

I once got a second Glaive beam and weapon preigniter on stealth cruiser B by sector 2 and proceeded to split the entire game in two. It was the greatest of all godruns

I think the best setup I ever got was 2x chain Vulcan, weapon pre-igniter, and stealth weapons. You get 10 seconds while my weapons ramp, and then you're toast.

Hard mode has the connected rooms, so it's harder to destroy/teleport in the missile room without more crew coming in to repair it

Ah FTL, love this game to bits. My favourite run was a hard mode attempt playing stealth B. First jump was a forgotten battlefield event and I selected the blue long range sensors option, and got a pre-igniter. Suffice to say, I won.

Ah FTL before they introduced the hell that is hard mode. Selling the Artemis missile I’ve the heavy ion is so painfully dumb. The legendary 5 shield slug ships are menace. That specific template always has 1 more shield than usual even pushing up to 5 from 4 in section 7 or even sector 6 in hard mode. When they also have level 10 engines they just aren’t worth fighting especially since that template usually has a pretty good weapons complement.

Thank god Pre-igniter doesn't fully charge charging weapons... I mean, the Vulcan Gun is already the most OP weapon in the game if you don't have Pre-Igniters, but if you could have it fully ready as soon as you enter the fight...
