Next Order is not a massively huge game but, towards the beginning of the story, it can be pretty tough to find the efficient enemies to train against. Now, with the re-release of Next Order on Nintendo Switch and PC, this guide will aim to help players succeed and thrive in the game.
Now that I've played the game for a few years now, I hope to showcase some of the best routines for training against in Next Order. The guide itself will take you through the first 2 real time hours of the game and show you how to build a good foundation in the beginning. My goal is to relax whilst farming money, xp and tamer points.
In the guide, I start with two Eggs which quickly become Snow Goblimon & Aruraumon. I take them around Nigh Plains in order to bolster my position and prepare them for champion level. By the end of the video, I will have worked them upto the point where they can comfortably fight enemies above their power level. Hopefully this will let you guys see how fun the early game of Next Order can be, by reducing some of the pressure on yourselves and simply practicing the mechanics.
As a mini disclaimer, different types of digimon may be able to beat some enemies easier than others. This will be particularly true if you have an elemental advantage over your opponent, water beats fire, etc. Along the same vein though, some digimon may struggle against others if they are naturally weak against their enemy's type. Keep this in mind when you train and when observing the examples mentioned on screen. If you go to a particular training spot and find it easy/too difficult, then move onto one of the others.

Additional tips for newer players: For starter digis, choosing the same digiegg is beneficial since you'll be unlocking the digivolution data 2× faster in the expense of covering lesser range of elements. I prefer any bebe that would evolve to dark or light digis though. Light and dark starter techs are amazing.

I played lot of digimon world as a kid on playstation, I recently tried this and tried my best to discipline (here it's called bonds or something?) them, which meant scolding them after training and fighting, and encouraging bad behaviour like praising not liking something. I knew I would get the dark evolutions doing that crap =w= I feel proud not looking it up lol

Was a relaxing video. 100% agree with combat over gym. Gym is great but there are loads of benefits to combat namely getting new combat moves, bits and tamer exp. Getting HP and MP running is a life saver! Great video Jack

Just grab the game on discount for the PS4, this is really useful. In my first playthrough i just open a wiki and plan the digivolve, and start splitting my time to battle most of the day and training in the gym near the digimon sleep time. By doing this i manage to get 1 mega (it's just platnumemon lol) before they die. For this 2 hour podcast sir, you just got a subscriber

I know this was made a while ago. But something to note is that stamina reduces damage taken really well, so increasing that steadily through your game will make it extremely easy to shrug off damage.

I just recently got 200 digimon in the city. My biggest complaint is the delays when picking up items and resting and such; there's small hiccups while playing that waste so much time. in a game where you're suppose to enjoy wasting time xD So I ended up using a cheat thing engine to use speedhacks or what its called mapped to keys and then mapped to my controller. Like seriously... I can't grind and farm items on x1 speed anymore, I need at least x2. Hell I made the game run at 1.25 during vanilla play just to make it feel more on point >_

I would say from personal experience to try and not get Hagurumon/Guardromon for your first generation, as their negative area is the server desert, and him getting easily sick would drain your resources, as you'll need medicine after medicine to make sure you don't get too bad of a life desync situation so early on that it'll hurt your playthrough. Once you have the mental trainer skill, this negative becomes negligible.

umm can you make a short detail info on DNA Evolution because at the digivolve dojo guide 5 years ago, you only said the benefit of level 1 and 3, i kinda confuse because after i jogress my digi, the other one devolving, i thought it will immediately digivolve

If one of your Digimon dedigivolved, you must have fused them together. When you get the Dojo to level 3, you can fuse the remaining Digimon partner (the one that de-digivolved) with a city resident, assuming you have a villager that is compatible. Does this make sense?

Do you have a story progression guide we can use for reference when playing? When the game ask me to recruit more digimon, it never gives a prosperity amount I have to hit or something... I thought I was close to recruiting grapleomon at one point so I went out to find him and accidentally allowed my digimon to digivolve into PlatinumNumemon. Would have enough time if the game was a little clear on instructions.

His info is kinda scuffed some times but it might point you in the right direction. If that doesn’t help, then defo have a look at the let’s play I’ve linked above 👆

Are there any digimon games where you are more focused on your partner being being more set? My digimon knowlage comes from watching the first... ?five? seasons of the anime, so its very odd to me that the digimon I control in this game keep changing on me. I would still like to pick the digimon partner or partner's. I would want them to mainly stay in their eh... roockie level with the digivolutions being more temporary. At least unless worked hard at. This just have not given me that feel of quite living out my digimon fantasy adventure.

Not in the early game schn :( it's tough when you have a desync and defo one of the most annoying problems that new players have to deal with. @@MrW01FY I'm already spoiled on some of the qoa changes between decode, which I'm more familiar with, and Next Order, which I'm now only recently playing. I was so terrified to get into battles in Next Order at first because I was worried three deaths would result in immediate digi-death. Part of me is missing that though since it was a nice way to reset a digimon you don't like, and that seems like something that would be pretty nice (if a bit game breaking) for Next Order and trying to sync your digis back up.

It's a habit that I've carried over from the original Digimon World on PS1. Typically, scolding your digimon could lead to the Digimon having high discipline which was often desirable (most of the time). Honestly, scolding my Digi's in Next Order isn't a bad thing- but it probably explains why I often end up with the same Champions in the early game 😙 At the end of the day, it's a personal preference/playstyle kind of thing. If you guys wanna scold, then go for it :)

Fair enough marcus, it's your call my dude! On the flip side, don't give up on it before you try it. The life cycle seems weird at first but its very easy to manage with a bit of practice. If anything, the digimon live too long and most of the time you'll spend time waiting for them to die so you can begin again with your next rookies. This is just my experience though :)

I can't even get past the gym ! My digimon are always locked to pschemon/black gabumon and always Snow Agumon. I honestly believe this game is a lie, there is no multiple path-evulotion there is only one. I've tried scolding, I've tried praising, I've tried only mushrooms, I've tried praising outside, I've tried doing speed stats for foxmon and str stats for wolfmon but always, ALWAYS always.. the results are never anything different and I regret buying this game, four hours I slaved over this.. don't buy this game if you've a pair in mind.. unless it's agumon and gabumon, cus that's all your going to get.

I must have button mashed because I ended up with the same babies and they became Solarmons. Didn't even realize you got to pick separate Digimon and was bummed out that no matter how I trained them separately; they ended up as two BlueMeramons before deciding to let them die and restart so I wandered around recruiting and progressing the story. Been playing this for 32 hours so far, your guide on stat gains has helped :)
