It's too nice to use as a cutting board. It would make nice paneling for a jewelry box or humidor.

Love the deaign, bought the plans to try. I also saw your short wesr only two wood species were used. Would walnut and purple heart just be substituted with one species of wood in this example? Then maple pine replaced with one species ? Example i would use is mahogany and maple

Question....when you cut your juice grooves, how far from the edge do you begin? Also, do you have a favorite width for your juice grooves? Thanks! Your work is exceptional!

What kind of pine are you using? I thought pine was not recommended in a cutting board.
@FeldthouseFamilyWoodworks8 ай бұрын
You need to watch the whole video. The pine is just a place holder to minimize exotic wood waste

Are the borders oriented as end grain?

@stevenwilliams4291 yes! I make long endgrain strips and glue them on as side caps

I’m truly not trying to be a smart ass, but it looked like the measurement after the first glue up was 2-1/8”, not 2-1/4”, and your halfway measurement looked like 1-1/16”

If you don't have a drum sander you CANNOT do this accurately? THIS is why most people can't pull this off?
