The only reason he stayed it was for mason. And he doesn’t even say that in the campaign. Shouldn’t he be trying to weed out of the moles that Menendez has within the CIA right now?

As someone who is not really into-and utterly confused by-the whole Black Ops lore, this video is a very well-written recap I wasn't really there for the golden era of COD, since AAA gaming was not really well known in my country (and was hella expensive). I even only started playing BO1 like in 2019 when I got my first pc, and I couldn't really follow where the story is going halfway through BO2... To this day, I haven't tried BO3 because of the change in setting (didn't really like the shift into a futuristic one), and BO4... well you know how that game goes. On the other hand, I think the Modern Warfare line-the one I like more-is laid out properly; you have 1, 2, 3, and that's it. Sure we get another new one, but since MW19 onwards is technically a reboot, I don't mind having it "updated" Anyways, great video!

Truthfully, I never cared for the Warzone multiplayer related Lore but I appreciate your dedication. Out of everything, those cutscenes just feel unnecessary. I just want campaign lore to stay in the campaign. Locking story content behind time sensitive multiplayer seasons is just dumb to me.
@commandantvictor55703 күн бұрын
Real. I always skip/forget about those cutscenes that actually impact the lore, but in such a halfhearted, weak way. Like this stuff could've easily been shoved into a cutscene or additional mission during the campaign or even be the segue into the next game but nope. Just tie up these stories in the least satisfying, most boring way possible. I mean Perseus was like this existential threat that was going to destroy everything and then they just kinda went away. The og guy died of cancer, and Stitch just gets executed by Adler, all in a 30 second cutscene. LAME!

Having played all the black ops games, I agree with you to a certain extent. Black Ops 1 was a chefs kiss, perfecto. I felt like BO2 was an odd but nice dip into futuristic warfare, although at the ripe old age of 13 I did think it was weird that they didn’t do a direct sequel to BO1 in the 70s/80s. When BO3 came out I played the campaign but don’t remember anything of it like I do with BO1 and BO2. At that point I had resigned myself to the Zombies game mode as I felt like the storyline and characters were much better than the campaign (even as convoluted as the Aether storyline is). Black Ops 4 just added to the depression of my deployment at the time lol, I was genuinely excited when I heard it was coming out, only to have my hopes dashed when I finally played it. 2018 was an awful season for games to come out (Minus RDR2) BOCW I genuinely enjoyed the campaign, it was somewhat of the direct sequel I thought BO2 would have been. Zombies was good, some people thought it was too easy, I liked it. And finally for BO6, I do see how some stuff feels like it was shoehorned and it’s a goddamn shame that certain writers and actors didn’t reprise their roles but I thought the storyline was decent. If BO1 is a 10/10 I give BO6 a 7.5/10. However I’m really liking the zombies. Feels harder than BOCW, but not too much harder. Easter eggs were a fun challenge, especially adding the difficulty of completing the dark ops challenges for each. Guns are good, storyline I think is good. I think they did well with BO6 and would like to see them continue with the somewhat darker, shady intelligence agency themes in the campaign. I’m looking forward to how they continue the storyline in the future, hopefully keeping it either mid-late 20th century or early 21st century. No more futuristic settings. That shit was old by the time BO3 came out. Either keep it old school cool or modern day.

If that's the case, the Hudson is using "dubious truth", like he always does 😏

They fumbled by making the prequel comic, that if you read it, the whole story makes sense. Basically, Taylor’s character is another guy named Dylan Stone which Taylor was sent to kill Stone’s rouge team. All missions are true and happened, but they’re reversed and they trip you out with the whole Virus aspect, you’re just seeing memories through a dying man’s brain.

I think Case's story is more interesting than Bell's, even if there's unanswered questions about him.. And unlike Bell we had an actually established (although not said in dialogue) name. I wish woods was built on more, but I also got the vibe of him trying to hold it together. In the campaign one of the optional dislodges was him mentioning how hes thinking about taking a step back from the CIA after this and go raise David since he felt he owed it to Mason after everything. Thought they where going to finally close woods chapter, he was showing some emotion and that he realized this wasn't his life anymore. End of the game they more they offer the team the prospect of continuing to work for the CIA and was expecting him to give some rude comment and rejecting it setting up the new cast, but no. I genuinely feel like the writers wanted to end woods but daddy Acvitision needed the nostalgia bait and multiplayer cut scenes. At least I'm enjoying zombies

The thing is that Black Ops 6 is non-committal with Mason, as much as it can be. In BO2, Woods doesn't know Mason's alive until he shows up in the post-credit scene, and that's if you go with that ending. For them to have him show up in the campaign, or have anyone say he WASN'T dead, would break that.

Do we ever get confirmation over whether its canon if Woods killed Mason or not? I don't even understand the original cutscene frankly. If you shoot Mason in the legs Woods still reacts like he killed him, and then he's shocked in 30 years to see Mason alive. Feels like that was always just shoehorned in as a way to give fans an out in that mission, but I'd like if it were canon.

Thoughts on the Case being Bell after MK Ultra 2: Electric Boogaloo, and the scene at the end of BOCW where Adler "kills" Bell, is Bell's "personality" being killed off/replaced with Case, since Adler had clearance at ATA around the time Case was in the program? Someone's done a video about the timelines adding up pretty closely (like Adler's ID reading that he had clearance days /before/ the Solovetsky raid)

Curiously, zombie lore is canon in the same universe and Krapchenco was in charge of that project, it's chaos🤣

You should cover zombies or at least the dark aether storyline (bo cold war, vanguard, mw3 and bo6) as everything up until tag der toten is technically no longer cannon but also it is just not in this universe.

32:26 it is NOT a confirmation that Mason remains dead. If you go by the best ending, As you know until the end of Black Ops 2 (2025/26), everyone believed that Mason was killed. Even Woods was surprised when Mason popped up at the end and asked where Mason has been for 30 years as he persumably went undercover. So its quite normal that Woods & everyone else believes that Mason was shot dead in Black Ops 6 If a "Black Ops 7" plays after the BO2 story, we can confirm this. Or maybe a game where we play as Mason during this 30-Year span

The worst thing call of duty has ever done has to be making playing the multiplayer mandatory if you want to play the story. DMZ was the best option they gave us and they decided to scrap that. That being said... Black Ops 6 has the best campaign since MW2019

Adler is like new Black Ops. They have questionable trust at all times, tries to be gritty, plays with your mind, and betrays you by hiding lore in multiplayer.
