This place SCREAMS Horizons, which was the ride at the original EPCOT Center that focused on technological advancements in the households of the future. Though the real-life ride focused on households in the city, space, ocean, and desert, it seems like most of the ride's environments made its way into Among the Stars. CITY: Technically on Earth, but with the sci-fi atmosphere it could have easily been mistaken for another planet. The scene focused on city living, and shares a striking resemblance with the living room in AtS. DESERT: holy hell the hydroponics section. The Desert section of Horizons focused on agriculture in arid regions, featuring GMOs and irrigation. I was born after the ride closed, but everyone always mentions the smell of "Loranges" from this section of the ride. Disney would use the smell of citrus to invite riders deeper into the environment of the ride. The "pheromones" from AtS seems to be the most obvious reference to Horizons, especially considering it's in the hydroponics section. OCEAN: Admittedly there's nothing that I recognized in AtS. SPACE: ...the entire ride is literally set in space. MISC: While Horizons was not a walk-through as AtS is, it shares the same sort of pacing and speed as a walk-through. The scenes are made up of physical dioramas just like AtS, though many of EPCOT Center's rides shared this trait. Both Horizons and AtS are also based on the idea of looking into what the future might hold.

There probably isn't enough lore to do a full video on, but I suspect there is something weird on the Moon. There is a mural inside the History of Freedom in Concord which depicts American soldiers fighting in various conflicts throughout history. These conflicts include the Revolutionary War, World War II and the Great War respectively, but it also includes a fourth conflict which is rather curious. Situated between WWII and the Great War is an image of an armed American astronaut accompanied by some kind of starfighters. The description for the mural reads... "From Lexington and Concord to the shores of Iwo Jima, from the Sea of Tranquility to the Anchorage Front Line, Americans have fought and died through the ages to secure our nation’s freedom." This means the part of the mural depicting the astronaut is supposed to represent a conflict which took place on the Moon's Sea of Tranquility at an unknown time before the Great War. Who or what could they have been fighting on the Moon? There is a Special Issue of Guns & Ammo which can be found in the Quincy Ruins called "The Moon: A Communist Doomsday Device?" While that title sounds an awful lot like a crazy conspiracy theory, the fact that the United States fought an enemy on the Moon at some point does raise some interesting questions. I doubt the Moon itself is a giant "that's no moon" type doomsday device, but it would make sense if a Communist base was built on the Moon at some point and potentially houses some kind of weapon of mass destruction. If the Communists built their own colony on the Moon, then it is probably a safe bet that the Americans did as well. The fact that a major battle in American history was fought there would indicate there was some sort of military base of operations during the conflict. Perhaps with the assistance of Vault-Tec, the Americans built a Vault Installation which is still functioning today? We do know from Nuka-World that the possibility of building Vaults on other worlds was a plan of theirs. Building a test installation locally on our Moon would make sense. There are Vaults on Earth still functioning after 200 years and we don't know if any nuclear missiles were fired at the Moon during the end of the Great War, so is it possible any colonies on the Moon were left unharmed? What about the Zetans? Are they just glorified easter eggs and the star of a non-canon DLC, or are they truly part of the Fallout canon? I find it interesting that the Zetans were around before the Great War, but they're also still around 200 years later. Why do they insist on staying and watching humanity fight amongst themselves on their ruined world? Why do Zetan ships continue to fall from the sky and crash to the Earth? What the heck is going on up there? I personally think it would be interesting if the Zetans were canon and they've been in contact with, as well as possibly in conflict with, human survivors on the Moon. It's just speculation of course, but I think something funny is going on in the space around the Moon and it would be very interesting if we could investigate that further someday.
@NihilusShadow8 жыл бұрын
rcollpc I wouldn't be surprised if the Government was aware of aliens and covered them up. There are Astoundingly Awesome Tales comic books which feature Zetans. The Government could be covering it up by hiding them in plain sight. No one will believe they are real if they're in some kid's silly comic book after all. The Astoundingly Awesome Tales also include things like super mutants, giant fish monsters and robotic metal men. All of these things are real and, in some cases, product of military technology and experimentation. If they're real, then the Zetans could be real as well. If this means the Zetans are truly canon in the lore, then I'm also very curious to know what the Lone Wanderer is doing with Mothership Zeta. It's been 10 years since then and the Sole Survivor came across another downed alien fighter in the Commonwealth. Something's definitely up.

Considering Fallout is basically supposed to be a video game interpretation of the common misconceptions of nuclear warfare in the 50s/60s, the whole alien thing actually makes sense. I mean, look at all the theories and concepts of aliens from that era: they look like and do a lot of the same things people thought aliens would do if they're real. So, despite the fact that I don't believe in aliens in real life, and despite the fact that Mothership Zeta was my least favorite F3 DLC, I actually like that they're considered canon by Bethesda.

Vault tec Among the stars may have been the literal end point for the Vault program Taken from the Fallout wiki The true reason for the construction of the vaults was to allow the government to secretly study pre-selected segments of the American population, observe how they would react to the stresses of isolation, and how successfully they would re-colonize the devastated Earth and stars after the vault opened.

I think the US goverment/Vault tec plan was this. The War with China was going to end in Nuclear war, that the Chinese who where loosing the war now (We know by 2077 US forces where operating inside Mainland China including in the Gobi Desert and the Yantze River valley and the US had reclaimed occupied Alaska) and that the Chinese goverment would rather destroy the world rather then surrender. Therefore the US Goverment needed a plan to continue America else where. The US started a Space program with the intent of going to another world whether Mars (Arch Jet where building components for a trip to Mars when the Great war started. or somewhere else outside the Solar System. So companies like Arc Jet and robo co where building parts that could be built for interstellar space ship and infact there is a Nuclear powered Space shuttle in San Fransisco in Fallout 2

The Vaults where there to preserve a larger gene pool of humanity in particular the ones that worked as advertised like 101. The Plan would have been to use the Dwellers from the 17 out of 122 Vaults who lived in Control Vaults" as Colonists to this new world. The other vaults existed to see how people would react in "adverse circumstances" so the Goverment and Vault tec would know how to shape the new society they would build on another world.
@australisplays76158 жыл бұрын
Infact quite alot of Technology that was deployed in the vaults could have had a use founding a colony on another world The GECK (Garden of eden Creation kit) would have potentially worked as a terraforming tool on another planet Vault 22 was experimenting with crops Vault 81 experiment was a universal cure for disease Vault 111 Cryogenic suspension (This would have been particularly useful if the Star ship was planning on settling the Colony outside the Solar system somewhere where travel time would have been longer than a human lifetime Vault 112 Had people hooked into a VR world and potentially this could have been plan B if the Vault 111 experiment failed. The Colonist would have been put into a VR world for the duration of the trip thus avoiding any issues that may come up with the crew during a potneilaly long journey Vault 8 which functioned as norma and infact opened in 2087 had a GECK could have been a potential experiment in itself it would have allowed Vault tec to see how the GECK and the inhabitants worked/handled being in an "Alien world" ie the Wasteland
@australisplays76158 жыл бұрын
Now as for the war and its timing The Nuclear war may not have been started by the American or Chinese goverments in the Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta theres a reference to the Aliens trying to get the US Launch codes from US General theyve abducted. Infact the Aliens may have triggered the war to prevent Humanity from coloinizing other worlds and if we assume the Aliens are Martians and the Colony ships planned destination was Mars then the alien Iniated war may have been a premptive strike

Is "J. Hodgson" a reference to Mystery Science Theater 3000? I rather think that it is.

It clearly is! I'm surprised this wasn't noted. I'm guessing Oxhorn isn't a fan. "He worked at Vault-tec Institute, just another face in a blue jumpsuit."

Thanks for pointing that out, I never watched MST so I missed it

No worries! It seems they didn't take the joke any further than just that one character, unfortunately.

Ox, if you ever find the time, try to become familiar with MST, it's quite brilliant at times and very good the rest.

There are actually a LOT of references to the show in Fallout 4. For example the doors in the Mechanist's Lair are designed after the door sequences on MST3K... which was a show about a guy trapped in space with 4 robots.

It looks like the blurry effect is because of those magnets where you're standing. It's un-ending as long as you stand between them I think.

in regards to the murmers it sounds like it is the alien language that you hear when you go to the crash site of the ufo

I don't know if anyone mentioned it - a lot of comments to skim through - but don't forget J. Hodgson is a reference to Joel Hodgson and the setup to Mystery Science Theater

You're fallout lore videos are great. Would you consider making a video regarding you're thoughts about the brotherhood between Fallout 3 and Fallout 4?

Are you really making a new video each day (Research and develop)? If so, you're a power machine. Keep it up, my wife and I love these videos
