This made me laugh me head off, especially as I live in Germany, have travelled all over the world and you know what? It's true! They get up before everyone else, 'reserve' the sunbeds, then get breakfast first. Then complain about the coffee or something. The Brits in my experience are too drunk the night before to get up so early. Brilliant video, tanks.

My daughter took me and the wife and grandchildren for a family holiday last year to a 5 star hotel in Lanzarote fantastic hotel with five pools , people started grabbing beds at midnight, thank god we have gone back to Italy this year , we never get this problem in Italy 🇮🇹 obviously a different class of person

@@arandombard1197 I‘m not a big fan of it myself but I think at the end of the day it’s a cultural thing. If you subscribe to the "early bird catches the worm" mentality, it is just that whoever is willing to make the greatest effort/ arrive the earliest should have the right to reserve something in return. Besides that reserving a seat on a beach ( it’s those basket couches, you might have seen) for the whole day is completely normal in Germany and people like it because it prevents trouble down the line and gives you the ability to be more spontaneous, knowing that your seat is waiting for you whenever you want to use it.

Most "Sunbed Wars" stories I have encountered seem to involve the Germans (allegedly the original sunbed grabbers), the British (their main rivals), the Russians, or the French! I hear occassionally of people from other parts of Europe too (like Ireland, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, etc) though not to the extent of those four! 😂

I was this summer in a Majorcan hotel, it was a race to put the towels in the morning on the deckchairs despite the signs. Pathetic. A huge majority of English, Germans and lesser Eastern Europeans. Not to mention the huge, red bellies drinking their beers in the pool or eating crisps, constantly called to order. Pathetic 🤪🇨🇵
