I appreciate this post. It's always good to hear about the origins of rap from those who were actually there. I love these guys and what they created. I love their honesty and the way they gave props to other people in the game.

The first I GM Flash and the 3MCs was at Cedar Park in the Bronx. That was my introduction to coordinated Rap or MCing. There were others like Coke LA Rock, DJ Hollywood, Casanova Fly, Starski who rocked the party but did not shared the mic. There was a lot of Battle MCs which was fun to watch. It was F5 with GMF that did it for me.

@RC LaROCK the Mic 🎤stro You are so right. Cedar Park was dangerous, but that is where I 1st heard GM Flash and 3MCs. He also DJed at our prom at CIS 229. I could go on, but I will stop. I lived at RPT.

@RC LaROCK the Mic 🎤stro I believe I know you. I was in the towers from '75 at bldg 30. If I don't know you, we know that same people. 😎 Here is my short DJ list. Clark Kent, Blackjack, Kriptonite, Greg, Kevin, Spice, and Dynomite. 😎 I focused on DJs who actually lived in the towers, had equipment, and played live , and I did not use any emcees.

Is that Kehinde Wiley interviewing them his painting in the back???!!!! Kid Creo got mad long nails wth???Scorpio n Fab 5 Freddy sound just a like !!!!! I really like O.G.'s their mentality about MC' n its pure n professional. They entertainers doin they thing. "Imp tha dimp" taken from movie Five on black hand side Barbershop scene.1973 This was 15 years a go they would be trippin on what these kids is doing now the bar has been lowered. But there are still some good underground MC's but most are trash.

I don't think that's Kehinde interviewing them, but he did actually produced a painting of The Furious 5 dressed in the EXACT clothes they are wearing in this interview. This may have been the very day he began working on it.

Where is flash and how much time did kid creole get for what?
@jonathanvillalobos79945 жыл бұрын
+Blade Man Flash doesn't want anything to do with the FURIOUS 5 anymore.The 5 wanted to get back with Flash, a few years back and make some money, but Flash refused.Melle Mel and Mr.Ness(Scorpio)were furious.(No pun intended)They realize that Flash is making millions on tour.And would like to make some cash too.They say that they can't get any bookings for shows anymore.The promoters keep asking for Flash.No flash no bookings.As far as the KID CREOLE, he stabbed(Killed) a homeless man in N.Y. back in August of 2017.Sorry to say,I don't know how much time he got.because the media moved on.I sure like to know how much time he got too.Ive been trying to find some information online,but can't find any.He most likely is never gonna be a free man again.I think FLASH is wrong,in a way.He should help these guys out.

@@jonathanvillalobos7994 WOW man thank you for that info i grew up wit them dudes man everything they made was apart of what we did. ANYTHING COME UP ON THE KID HIT ME UP FAR AS FLASH GOES NIGGAZ GET THE CATALOGS AND THEY GOT THE MONEY THAT'S WRONG
@jonathanvillalobos79945 жыл бұрын
@@blademan4707 No, Flash doesn't have the catalogs.Flash don't own the catalogs,he don't own the masters or the publishing.(At least not from Sugarhill records)Its his name that has star power.I think Flash is still bitter at Melle Mel,.Idk if you remember back in 1983 they, GRANDMASTER FLASH & the FURIOUS 5 broke up.Flash,Rahiem,Kidd Creole, went to Elektra Records.they brought along w/them Larry love,Mr.Broadway,Lavon,and Shame.And Formed GRANDMASTER FLASH.they made 3 albums for Elektra records under that name.Melle Mel,Scorpio,and Cowboy stayed at Sugar hill records.And added Mel's younger brother,King lou.along w/Kami kazi,and Tommy gunn.And formed Grandmaster Melle Mel & the Furious 5.Flash was pissed that Mel,Ness,and Cowboy didn't wanna leave Sugarhill records.And join them to another label.The reason they broke up is because Silva Robinson was ripping them off.Plus adding insult to injury Flash was pissed that Melle Mel would use the name Grandmaster.To make a long story short, at Elektra records, they gave flash and them a very good contract.with royalties and publishing everything that Sugarhill didn't.In 1988 Flash & Melle Mel decided to get back together again.With all the original members.but after making one album together,they broke up again.Grandmaster Flash tours all around the world because of his D.J.skills.And that's why Mel& Scorpio,are pissed off at flash because he won't tour w/them.But what I don't understand is this.Melle & Scorpio go on tour w/out Rahiem and before kidd got locked up.they went on tour w/him too.So how are you gonna be mad at flash for not wanting to take Mel and them on tour.When Mel &Scorpio didn't even wanna take his brother and Rahiem on tour?That's that make any sense? That's why I think flash don't want anything to do with them.Now if Melle Mel would of went w/Flash,instead of staying at Sugarhill,then maybe Flash would take them on tour.Anyway if I find anything about Kidd Creole I'll let you know.Sorry for the long rant.May peace be to you bro,peace be to you!✌👊👍

It was a pimp thing/player thing from the mid-20th century. It signified you could have your nails that long because you didn't work with your hands. Sometimes it was just the pinky, the so-called cocaine nail.
