Unfortunate truth that to make an earning the animators have to make their animations decently lengthened, that being said though a lot of people do it for fun and dont care about monetizing. A lot of short animations are also tests for squashes and stretches or even walk cycles. But yeah it is a challenge to make an earning off of it

Shout out to Murder Drones, created by Liam Vickers (CliffSide, Internecion Cube) and animated by Glitch Productions (Meta Runner, Sunset Paradise, The Amazing Digital Circus). Speaking of Glitch, I've had my eye on them for over four years now. They went from a kid making silly Super Mario 64 videos to one of the most dedicated indie animation studios I've seen on KZbin. Pretty remarkable stuff.

This truly feels like the beginning of a new era. Where independent creators can have a voice and show off their talent without the need for big studio heads. It's kind of like the 1970's when Hollywood was going under, and they had to rely on renegade filmmakers like Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Brian De Palma and Martin Scorsese to bring fresh ideas to general audiences. This is going to be so exciting, and I can't wait to see what comes next.

I’m overwhelmingly inspired by all of these indie animation projects, and to hear that even in the face of mergers and cancelations the creator Olan Rogers still gave his Final Space series a finale despite not being animated is just the perfect (bleep) you to every big studio (or studio in general) that only care about money and are careless about their treatment of their workers, their art, and their audiences! I have a bunch of ideas that I’m trying to work on, but life and even those ideas all tend to get in the way! Time management and scheduling is very difficult for me, mostly when trying to schedule for just myself! Focusing is mainly my biggest issue. That all being said, I refuse to give up! I’ll keep pushing until I can get myself into a healthy daily routine so then I can finally have time to seriously dedicate to my creative projects!!!
@miczilla_ Жыл бұрын
I couldn’t agree more, I have so much respect for these animators and especially Olan for going through such a struggle but still managing to make something great out of a bad situation. I too am working on projects and I owe it all to these artists

To be Honest, I don't like most Modern Day Indie animation like Helluva Boss/Harbin Hotel, Murder Drones, Lackadaisy, and The Amazing Ditigal Circus. Not because they are bad (which might be a reason for some of them) but is the fact that they are the "definition" of Indie Animation... even though anything on KZbin can he define as a indie project/animation. Everyone has a singular mindset about the meaning of Indie Animation being like those shows I mention and never once thought outside of that.
@thegamingteen44mc510 ай бұрын
Honestly I recognise so many names and have even subbed to 2 of the ones listed (alan and sad-ist). The indie revolution, with its precursor in works like Wolf Song the Movie back in 2016 and of course the 2019 Hazbin pilot and all shows from then on out, is something that I not only look forward to watching, but as someone who myself has also dropped a pilot, I’m also looking forward to contributing to this new wave of animation

Every one of the animated shows is honestly amazing, no matter what style. Hell, even the more choppier, less drawn ones are still great! As long as you have a solid foundation for your story and well.. An actual good story, and some at least decent characters, you'll do pretty well! I feel Lackadaisy, Hazbin Hotel, and Helluva Boss really need more views and support. They're all underrated masterpieces of film.

I think it's pretty sad how much mainstream animation is falling these days, at least in the hollywood style of things.
@emmanuelcarter3551 Жыл бұрын
This isn't the first time that happened. In the 1970's when Hollywood was going downhill, independent movies and shows (low or high budget) were taking their places because you don't always need to rely on the company just to have your projects be successful and they literally mean't by what they said. Plus, unlike mainsteam companies, they were allow to have creative freedom and work on it whenever they feel like it or they can make their own schedule to make the stuff they wanna make. You can see the amount of heart and effort they put into stuff except for Hollywood. They just wanna make political preaching and reboots and remakes because it's easy money than to create soemthing new. They are aware that they don't have to try hard.
@emmanuelcarter3551 Жыл бұрын
So apparently, the reason why indie animation (such as Hazbin Hotel) gets more backlash is because there's people who are jealous and show envy towards their success and it pisses them off. Without the media telling them what to do, they're upset by it because how dare someone have creative freedom and how dare do they make stuff better than them. If you are an indie creator, let them be salty.

I'm so glad that someone mentioned Alan Becker! A phenomenal animator that doesn't get brought up nearly enough when talking about indie animation. Less known, cause it's in german, there are two series done by the channel Coldmirror. Yes, it's sloppily drawn nonsense, but that's the joke about it. Also, one of the series had one of it's episodes do a crossover with the science(?) channel Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell. It's silly humor and a lot of parody references, but it still is pretty funny.^^

It's best to let mainstream media be salty about it because they should thought about that before fucking up every creator that tends to have more creative passion than them all becuase, it's to not hurt certain people's feelings or because due to them making less money. They just don't want to admit it because they're so full of themselves. I hated those motherfuckers anyway when they choose to make nostalgia bait and talking down to their audiences instead of making new projects. They're willing to go down because they know that they don't have to try hard and make money of of nostalgia and most likely like to enforce their own certain beliefs and self inserts into the existing IP's. But, with indie animation, you see none of that and you don't even get to recognize any creative restraints. It;s not to say all indie animation or movies or shows are perfect because some of them may have bad writing, acting, or even terrible designs or animation, or even talking down to their fans because things don't go their way. But, it's in the right direction and we;ll see animation involve on online more than companies that like to shit on animation because to them it's just for kids and it's childish filled with nonsense when in animation there are no limits and you can create whatever you want or you could create a character that symbolizes on negative emotions or something. Most of animation is for all ages.

honestly? Final space was kinda bad, characters would just pop out of nowhere, random shit would happen, the jokes were... alright.
