2040 is 16 years away, that is as much as 2008 lies back, i was 3 in 2008 and i remember it a bit, it's already 16 years ago, when i was in a childrengarden for the first time on 8th January, 2008!!

I wonder if this type of tech would be mainstream by more like 2030. By 2040 I plan on having laser eyes and an indefinite healthy lifespan. My 20 years old body back and a personal air/water/road/space vehicle. In all seriousness though, it does seem like that sort of tech will be here sooner than 2040.

AR contact lens that are so thin, they're undetectable? And they can display photorealistic holograms? And they're economically viable enough to sell to a mass market? By 2030? It would be incredible if the engineering constraints could be overcome and I'd be glad if this tech became available so quickly.

@@FutureBusinessTech The biggest issue is battery. The display size can be reduced to current contact lense level size but how can we manage the battery size. Some old watch has Peltier chip and it uses body temperature to power its engine but, If we plan to sue body temperature as power source then we need to integrate Peltier chip into display, So both display and battery should be fabcriated from single silicon wafer or chip etched In a OLED

@@M154m I respect your choices with regards to the use of any technology. I, for example, completely respect the Amish and their views despite not sharing those views with them. Their lifestyle does not seek to interfere with mine. Consider though, they wear glasses. They use the wheel and wagon. They apply math and technical skills to build houses and furniture. They simply choose to accept a certain level of technology. They don’t reject all of it. When the Model T was introduced people would shout, “buy a horse you schmuck!” The car opened up travel for the common man, but it also caused and continues to cause terrible loss of life. AR will have its benefits for those who use it properly. All technology has pros and cons. I personally choose to recognize all that technology has to offer. I am a responsible person. I don’t reject AR or artificial intelligence, fusion, life extending medical breakthroughs, advanced material science … it’s all amazing to me. I’m excited for it to be developed. It’s coming whether you choose to accept it or not.
