@Charles_Stanley13 Walt's focus was not on making money. Only to sustain and develop his projects. He was an innovator and an educator/storyteller first and foremost. Roy was the money man to find ways to make Walt's dreams a reality. Walt was always pushing boundaries and doing things that had never been done before. He didn't just entertain. He wanted to educate in an entertaining way. Preserving history with Lincoln, Main Street, Rivers of America, Grand Canyon/Primeval World, etc. Disney doesn't have a dreamer anymore. They're only about the money and trying to figure out what's going to sell. They haven't been too good at that lately, either.
@keyman668919 күн бұрын
@Charles_Stanley13 Of course. Any business is around to make money. I'm just saying there's a difference between Disney then and now. The priorities have flipped. Walt: creativity first, money second. Iger: money first, creativity second. It's only about the money now. There's no passion for creativity and innovation. The stuntronic is the last thing that comes to mind. On the other hand, Universal seems to have taken the lead in those areas. I hear that some of the imagineers that Disney chased away are over there now.

@@ericcrum7055 he most assuredly would not be. Walt loved the US and understood that it took all kinds to make it work. The Hall of Presidents is a stunning achievement that transcends simple technology and shocks you emotionally. Not only is it moving, in its connection to Walt, it’s a forceful reminder of the possibility, vision and achievement of the imagineers as a concept. I’m moved to tears by the experience every time and it’s my favorite attraction. The utter humanity of it is a revelation. Considering who they humanized and the quality that goes into its escalating and boundless technologies, the experience is otherwise devastating. It does - and should - cause emotionality. Good, bad and totally. The story of America is gripping and jagged. It hits you like oncoming traffic and leaves you gasping. This should correlate to your beliefs and your experience. It’s precisely due to our differences that this attraction works and it should stir us, unafraid to look the confrontation in its face.

Regarding the Cinderella Castle Dream Lights…..I wonder if it has to do with preserving the architecture of the castle itself as well? Our historic county courthouse used to have beautiful lights strung all over it and the local historic society pointed out that every time those lights were hung and pulled back down it risked creating damage to the historic structure. So they’ve done projections for the last 5 years or so. I’m no lighting expert nor a historic building expert but I’ve often wondered if this was one of the reasons the stopped doing it…..

Here's what's really interesting to me. Grover Cleveland's name is read BEFORE Benjamin Harrison, so if Trump retakes the center stage, that will mean an inconsistency in their naming scheme. Rather than naming non-consecutive presidents by order of their first term, they might read them by order of their most recent terms, and read Benjamin Harrison's name BEFORE GC. If not, they will go on with an inconsistent order, OR lastly, start reading Trump's name before Biden's, innkeeping with that trend. Yes this is the kind of stuff I obsess over

Pick a slow week in September, put a notice up on the website, make it PUBLIC similar to other closings/refurbishments that it'll be going on, get in, get the lights up, get out. Do testing at night after park closing. This doesn't have to be hard and whatever marginal losses they'll have in slow September will be more than made up for during the holidays... I went in 2008 during the Cinderella era, and 2015 during the Frozen era of the dreamlights, and me and my wife, my kids, AND my parents all LOVED it! I'm 99.999% sure we weren't alone in that sentiment.

I love the HoP, this is coming from someone in the UK. American patriotism is often joked about over here by people but i think it’s great to be able celebrate your own country and stay true to what Walt originally planned for the park. Also those seats and so comfortable hehe

That's cause a lot of us are psychotic about it, but not all of us are. I hope your positive interactions are greater than your negative. I'm dying to visit the UK. I have English, Scottish and Irish heritage. (so yes I have to wear 750 SPF while visiting FL)

Just my opinion, but having worked at Walt Disney World and visited the HOP many times over the years, I think it might be time to either rethink the entire show or close it for a new attraction. I've enjoyed the show, but the last time I went a few months ago, I did feel it dragged terribly when they go through naming all the presidents. I also think a lot of people now might think it a little like the educational attractions that mostly no longer exist at Epcot (remember Communicore attractions, Horizons, World of Motion, etc?) I've also noticed that the huge theater is usually only about a 1/3 full when I've visited. When attractions don't draw guests, they usually aren't around too much longer or go through a major change.

Thank you for no politics, we had too much vitriol from ALL sides. It is nice to just be entertained and informed, without political opinions. Thank you 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 and well said . May our nation heal and just love each other.

@Charles_Stanley13if we don’t do something different we are done. The interest on our debt is now more per month than our GDP. Let’s see if we can save a country. It’s gonna take a new direction. Trump isn’t perfect but he is a very good businessman

@Charles_Stanley13 tariffs bring jobs back to our country which increases the value of our dollar. But I guess you're content selling this nation out to globalist bankers and elites. Inflation raises prices not tariffs.
