The creators said they trained together for 2 years. Grogu already had 50 years of training in the jedi temple. It wasn't likely Grogu would need Luke for long.

I feel like they have no idea what to do with Grogu. For the first two seasons, he was the driving force of the plot. Protecting him from the Empire/Gideon, getting him to a Jedi. In the first episode of S3, he is just... there. Just cute but inconsequencial. A funny sidekick, not unlike any other cute but useless Disney/Pixar one. Hope he gets something better to do in the rest of the season, because right now it doesn't look too promising (not bad but not as good).

Sorry but for me it sounds like corporate talk for "As long as we can milk this series, we will do it." I'd rather have them tell stories they want to tell in the Star Wars universe instead of dragging out stories because they are financially successful
