The Future of the Indo-Pacific with the Coast Guard Commandant

Please join the CSIS International Security Program (ISP) for a discussion with the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, Admiral Linda L. Fagan, on current and future challenges in the Indo-Pacific on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
Admiral Fagan will sit down for a virtual, livestreamed discussion with Dr. Seth G. Jones, CSIS senior vice president, Harold Brown Chair, and ISP director. The pair will discuss Admiral Fagan’s recent trips to the region and her assessment of U.S. involvement in the coming years.

One Major area that the CG could lead internationally is in recognizing Rostrata species L. as keystone on three continents AND at risk as over-harvested, ecosystems endangered by MAOC dispersal, and the failure of Marine sciences to adequately assign resources to this crisis, AND then conducting drift sampling and monitoring of harvests (too late this year). Estuaries and fresh water systems worldwide are at risk of collapse if this species disappears
