This video is very helpful. I'm in the market for something to help reduce my propane usage because it's so dang expensive to heat my 2 story house. I've got a large open hearth fireplace that just is useless as it is. Barely heats the living room. Before watching this i was set thinking i wanted a catalytic insert but you stressing how it really doesn't matter seems to help ease my mind and realize i can focus on price and aesthetic details more than what type of secondary combustion it's using. My wife was saying she wants one with a ledge she can put a kettle on.

At my mountain house I have an arch opening to the fireplace. It's quite large and I'm concerned about the surround piece covering it correctly. It is a masonry fireplace but has a metal 'heatilator' insert. You mentioned the metal boxes aren't good for inserts. Suggestions? Also, are you going to carry any rocket heaters (certified UL)? P.S. My primary home has an Osburn 2400 in the masonry fireplace. What a great stove. It was installed about 20 years ago, give or take a few years. It's the stove that sticks out from the face of the fireplace. Fantastic stove. One thing to remember about the inserts that could cause an issue. If you have a hearth that is just enough for the fireplace then put in the flush insert. If not you have to add a fireproof piece in front of it. There is a clearance needed to combustables such as the floor. This is the issue with the mountain house. I'll need a flush mount.

0:04 “Today I am going to be teaching you.” That is an arrogant thing to say to an audience. 6:58 “What I try to educate consumers” this is the type of language to use to bring in customers.

I want the regency CI2700 but I saw a review about, when you open the door the smoke come out and you get the smoke in the room
@embersliving4 жыл бұрын
that can happen on any model, if you dont have a good draft going.

Try and open the door slowly to reduce the smoke coming in your house

Once the fire burns down to coals no smoke comes out, but if your adding wood without it burnt down crack the door open just enough to poke the fire around with the poker then the draft will work better to fully open door

Once again Pacific Energy is the very best. Don't understand why more wood stove retailers etc don't include this company in their evaluations of product.

6/1/23. This is so wierd ... I just looked at this comment < 5 minutes ago and found a response to this comment ~ ' because they won't let us' .... and now when I come back here, the comment is gone??? Am I halucinating? I bring this up because I'm looking at a PE but see lots of bad customer support comments..... Thoughts?? Don't see any PE products here....

I’m not sure if you’re aware, but your countertops out back are on fire. I hope I’m not too late!

Someone told me to look into a fireplace insert. I didn't even know what that was. I don't understand. These look like microwaves. I don't want a microwave in my fireplace.

Downvoted for asking for Like & Subscribe before saying anything useful. It's like asking me to review a movie before I've even seen it, or a waiter expecting a tip before even taking the order.

You being in the business should know better. The proper word is MASONRY, .... Not MASONARY.
