Since then, there's been several wars in the Middle East (which cynics attribute, possibly correctly, to fights over oil, as opposed to bringing freedom and democracy as Bush told us), gas prices remain a top election issue in the US, numerous countries are confronting each other in the Arctic, and I have yet to see a single hydrogen fuel-up station for cars in any of the 5 countries I have lived in since that time. Sam's argument against technology is it gets worse before it gets better because of the various components in the compounding effects. Take computers for example those would never be able to run the way that they do or even a phone way too many moving parts way too many people using them. Phones surely would never work as there are far too many components that need to work in a perfect synchronized way. Surely they could never make them waterproof. connect to the internet And be durable enough for the general public including children to use. Never could they condense the interface into a working touch screen and make it USB c rechargeable With cameras that are more powerful than actual cameras that were only a camera.

I will say I have first hand experience of one actual use of bostom dynamics robots. That is entering irradiated areas, not in active nuclear facilities really they're too r*tarded, but in decommissioning places where only running for an hour is actually fine. Because in this case getting a guy to do it actually pretty expensive, and hard, because the suits are crazy expensive and need to be near constantly replaced almost after every use, and there are still health risks. This does actually save money, I've seen the paperwork because I'm involved. But this is basically the only use case.
