Today we're talking about ART that open to public to ride in Putrajaya from 1-4 February 2024.
Autonomous-rail Rapid Transit or ART is a guided bus that autonomously driven with or without driver on board.
Despite its name, it is not on the rail - it is on the road.
What is the story behind the development of ART and how it tried to get its real-world operation in Malaysia since 2019?

How do you think this compare with existing rapid busses, especially about how effective it will be? Apart from now the pilot/driver is optional and can be autonomous, and the fact that the road now has to be painted especially (not sure if this lane will be exclusive, or together with the jam), what problem would this solve that the prior busses can't? Cool videos btw, loving your work!

Thanks Fami for another informative video. IMHO 1) at grade or ground level transit such as buses, ART, DRT, KTM Commuter has the advantage of easy access of not needing escalators up or down many levels, don't need expensive elevated structures or tunnels especially stations. 2) Like Sg with still 6000 buses a city should exhaust the capacity of buses before considering expensive rail or ART 3) Comparing Rapid KL new Volvo B8L double decker (seat 75 stand 20) VS CRRC ART , it will be interesting to compare the seating and standing capacity per 12 meter (as for standard Rapid bus lengths) 4) initial cost B8L versus ART 5) operating cost per pax mile 6) real world comparison say on Rapid KL route 600 between Puchong and Pasar Seni 7) the humble not sexy low tech Bus is hard to beat in terms of initial cost, First Last Mile and Frequency if there are bus priority traffic lights and lanes 8) unfortunately Putrajaya is planned for cars, poor bus routes and frequency, no sheltered walkways, low tree density, sprawling ... struggle to cycle too ... my 2 sent

Great points! I'm especially interested in the fact that since Putrajaya already had rapidkl busses, and from what I was informed, had failed due to low demand, what changed this time that made the planners think "THIS time it'll work"?

Thanks for showing us first person experience on this ART. In my opionion it would be better to continue with the Putrajaya monorail all the way to Kajang (passing through IOI mall) instead of ART.

ART is suitable for tourism. But monorail is the better and cheaper option for commuting around Putrajaya and Cyberjaya.
