The FW de Klerk Foundation's Presentation to Parliament's Ad Hoc Committee on the GILAB Bill

On 7 February, Daniela Ellerbeck, Manager of Constitutional Programmes at the FW de Klerk Foundation, presented the Foundation's concerns on the General Intelligence Laws Amendment Bill (GILAB) to Parliament's Ad Hoc Committee at a public hearing in the Western Cape. Ellerbeck stressed the need for drastic changes to the Bill to prevent it from being used to have the South African Intelligence Agency conduct vetting investigations and security competency tests on civil society.
