Thanks for including my grandfather (Earl Weatherford) So many people don’t realize the direct impact he had on gospel music. Many top names in the industry today would not be here if it wasn’t for my grandfather giving some people a chance. Those people went on to start The Cathedrals The imperials The Kinsgman. and many more. Thanks for including him.

heard 2 interesting stories i'll share. boots randolph first. great musician and apparently could sing but loved his sax more so rarely if ever sang. one time asked what his favorite music was, he said "gospel by far." while he was known for country, and other styles his "heart" music was the old hymns. that video of him playing a melody ont he sax on one of the videos really shows that. the other story is concerning george jones. he'd had a hard life, led a hard life, and from what i understand was as talented as he was given credit for in the video. have a friend who was distantly related to him. told this story . said after he got saved, everything truly changed. those last few years he got he was off drugs, drinking, everything but smoking. but you could tell there was a change. he said a little known story is that george after getting saved, one of the first phone calls he made was to tammy wynette's widower. by this time tammy had passed. my friend said they had a long good conversation and one of the last things george told him was something like, i want to apologize for what i did to tammy. i would apologize to her but she's gone. i'm sorry you got what you got because of me. tammy's widower, said we're good george i know you mean it. and if she was here she'd forgive you too. he goes on to share that just acouple of weeks before george died, george was talking to hiis dad (my friends dad) and they were talkign about chruch and bible and stuff and he'd been in the hospital or maybe was but getting out, and told my friends dad, i'm ready to go home. his dad thought he meant just home and he said george said no i mean HOME. waht ever george's shortcomings 9and there were plenty) it appeared he truly got it right int he last few years of life. he still lived to the age he did and you jsut wonder if he hadn't lived so hard in his early years what his life would have been like.
