I don’t have the Z fold 4, but I’m planning to get it so researched it and turns out it has sort of a laptop mode with out an external display. You just have to fold the screen 45 degrees and lay it on the table like a laptop and a trackpad will be on the bottom screen and the top screen will be the display. I think this works in most app, except the ones that have a custom UI for that mode

How is the NexDock’s trackpad? Does it work well?

I'll be honest, it's not great. The trackpad itself is great and responds well, but the clicking is a bit rough. I usually use it with a Bluetooth mouse.

I'm reluctant to get a folding phone, the technology is too new. However, I really like that folding keyboard. It would go great with my iPad Mini 6.

I really like the Z fold 4, it was a fun phablet. I wouldnt say its the best at any one thing. decided to trade in for the s23 Ultra

Im personally very hesitant about getting any devices with folding displays (as I’ve been told that the folding screens have a high failure rate (compared to normal displays))

They actually have a very low failure rate, especially with the newer devices. A couple of friends of mine have Z-Fold 2s still and the hinge, and screen, are as good as day one. They are a lot more durable than they appear to be.

@@Eevnos I probably could have worded it better (since as far as i know, normal (non folding) displays only break if you cause physical damage to the screen, whereas folding displays have been known to break at the fold even if the user is as careful as possible, and never drops the device) A few of the other things that put me off is the cost of the devices, and the cost of repairs if the display was to break (Ive never had a normal phone screen break (although my sister managed to crack the glass on her phone screen), although that could be partly down to the case i use doing a good job protecting the phone, as i have dropped my phone a few times, my sister doesn’t use a case (as far as i know)) And i also have trust issues with android

I personally not a fan of foldable screen phone. Heck, I even replaced my Galaxy Fold for an LG V50 with its detachable Dual Screen case and never look back. However, I do have a used Note8 as a DeX machine and I'm really loving the whole experience of it. Also, with modern smartphone SoCs are crazy powerful to most people, I can't see any reason to get a cheap Android tablet or Chromebook laptop.

Maybe it's about time Google do a convergence for both Android and ChromeOS. After all, ChromeOS does have Play Store support as well. That way, not only you can get more people embracing Linux, you can also get people save money by only buying one computer.
