Wow, I live here, and I really started to dive into the history of Galicia lately, but I never knew THAT information, so thank you so much for your content, you are really rocking my worldview (in a good way) with not so well known history like that.

You're welcome very much. Thanks for taking the time to write this comment. In which city do you live?

@@HistoryHustle Ivano-Frankivsk, former Stanislavov, though it was not in GSSR apparently, but still I-F is fundamental part of Galicia as you know, and I wonder what turn of events it might have caused, maybe to independent Galicia today, who knows.

Interesting, I-F is still on my list to visit. I heard the city survived WWII fairly well, in contrast to Ternopil for example.

My family for centuries lived in Kozłow outside of Tarnopol. Ive been trying to unravel our family history, including where my grandfathers little brother, Rudolf, is buried. He was killed by someone in 1944. Then, my family was put in cattlecars and shipped to Wrocław.

Short lived states are very interesting actually. You ever heard of the Bottleneck free state? You should do a video on that.
@HistoryHustle4 жыл бұрын
Vagualy heard of that one. Love to travel Lorch am Rhein to record history on location.

The big joke initially is, or let's say the trigger for me: "" I thought Galicia was the autonomous region in Spain". But apparently there are two Galicias in Europe.
@TheLocalLt4 жыл бұрын
Erik The Half A Bee the Spain one is less famous. Galicia in present day Poland has been fought over for centuries
