The rappers today are DESPERATE to get good opinions out of you. They’re trying to look flashy and cool while saying words that feel good saying with a catchy beat. There’s no real message whatsoever, just catchy dance music to make the fans happy. These rappers are desperate for relevancy, whereas the rappers of old were relevant by default because they were messengers. Rap today still has its old purpose, especially given the political turmoil in this country today. The problem is rappers today aren’t going for that purpose. And that’s bad news for ALL OF US! Rap needs to be the front line for all artists willing to speak out against the powers. Yet here we are…
