Behold, video essay. I think the worst part about this video is after it was finished and rendered out I was haunted by all the things I forgot to say about ArmA that kept coming to me in the shower. That being said I’ll get a list going on this comment for some highlights I missed and feel free to comment some that you think should be included. I’ll also be adding any corrections that are needed to the video here! Some cool stuff I missed: -Ravaged is an amazing procedural generation mod that allows you to make your own zombie survival missions -DayZ Breakpoint was an ArmA 3 mod that I had some of my best DayZ experiences in barring the initial release of ArmA 2 DayZ. -Darkwood is a fantastic co-op mission by WebKnight that’s worth playing -ArmStalker Online is a full RP MMO in the Stalker universe, completely made in ArmA 3 -Cytech is an amazing underground map made in ArmA that includes assets and units for it. -Drongos Spooks & Anomalies is a sick mod for monster hunting. -Lambs & Vcom are mods that completely rework how the AI fights against you. -Max's Terminator mod, adds the Terminator universe!

When I replied to a forum post about making a Halo mod for Arma 3 in 2014 because "fuck it why not," I never would've guessed we would end up here. It's been a frustrating, fascinating, eye-opening adventure in which I've brought a dream to life, thanks in no small part to the gargantuan efforts of countless friends and contributors across the years. Thanks for giving me a little soapbox to yap about it, and even more for giving me a cool group of homies to finally actually play it and have fun with. ARMA III is one of the few, if not the only game, where a community has been brought together through the turbulence, anger, and frustration of modding. I cannot express the joy of playing mods and then screaming at the top of my lungs about dying while laughing. Overall, the ARMA community is an interconnected place where people from around the world can create, play, and enjoy their favourite fantasies without having to wait for franchises to produce games about those subjects and situations. ARMA is a community of friends-and, in some cases, lovers. In summary, this video perfectly captures the essence of ARMA. It’s a video game where wishes come true, brought to life by the blood, sweat, and tears of its passionate community. ARMA is a game where dreams that seemed impossible five or ten years ago are now a reality. To the ARMA community and the fans of Halo, Warhammer, and fantasy games, we owe our gratitude to Bohemia Interactive and the tireless modders who have dedicated countless hours to make this game possible. It is truly a game where "dreams come true."

To all the ARMA freshies: I wish you luck in your endeavors to find a group. You will suffer. You will cry out in anguish. But it will be worth it. Most will be bait. Many good groups will die as one key member leaves due to life reasons. What remains will be gated by small recruitment drives, or high hour requirements. It is a large miracle that I got into the Cadians, but let me be the light at the end of the tunnel and say it was worth it.

I can definitely say, as a veteran of ARMA Reforger since pre-launch, I’ve always wondered what would happen if IGNIS came back to Reforger, even if there was an open IGNIS community server. But that’s just my thought in the comments upon watching the Reforger section. In all honesty, although I briefly played 2 and 3, my PC couldn’t handle the games on there. But with Reforger on Xbox, I was enjoying the play of an ARMA game on console on my end.

Ya know it's kinda funny how RubixRaptor, Liru and a few others were my main reasons for buying a PC. Getting Arma 3 and interacting with the community and people there. I became a Zeus for communities and have been able to make some pretty awesome missions because of it. All because of these people who I in one way or another look up to. And it all came from this game. If this game was never made and if the modding community never took off like it did. I may have never found half the people I call friends today. It's crazy to think about tbh. Also I hope Rubix does more of these styles of videos because being able to hear the experience of the mod creators and what they did and have gone through even if it's only abit is awesome to see. And Rubix brings the energy to make it easy to watch and understand.
