"The Game That Started A Genre!" ~ Metroid/Zero Mission

Metroid has always been a favorite series of mine for quite awhile. And now with its recent renaissance with Dread, Prime Remaster, and the upcoming Prime 4. I think its time to tackle the series here on the channel, starting with the original Metroid for NES and its 2004 remake Zero Mission. Great video man, I'm especially glad that you reviewed botj the original AND Zero Mission in the same video. Most people I've seen just look at the first in a vacuum and/or have separate reviews for each game. It's just really neat seeing the two side by side, and how cleanly ZM modernized a legendarily important game in the industry.

I never understood reviewing games in a vacuum like that, if a game has a remaster or remake I find that to be a golden opportunity to see the growth of a series. I understand putting yourself in the mindset for a review as if the game came out today, but I think that can only take things so far. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, I got plenty of more Metroid stuff to come so I hope you enjoy those aswell!
