I really never understood the critique that korras character never grows. She is almost an entirely new person personality wise from S1. And it’s almost bitter sweet. Korra from S1 and 2 had such a spark and excitement in her heart, and now she darkened, but also matured tremendously. I love her arc so much.

Watching the start of the show now is almost painful. Just seeing how excited and eager Korra is when she first arrives in Republic City, and all I can think is, "Oh you sweet summer child, you have no idea how much the world is going to hurt you."

Good on Varrick for giving a huge helping hand this episode! I loved how Korra and Asami were completely in sync with each other this episode while Mako was always a step behind 😅 All hail Hydr-- I mean, the Great Uniter!! Fun fact: The firebender and waterbender that talked were the original designs for Mako and Korra, respectively. The firebender was also most likely the foundation for Wan's design as well since he does look like Wan.

And she mentions to Korra being a colector of rare meteorites (like the rock sokka wanted for his sword). There are also other things that I can't remember rn. So yeah, that's quite an interesting theory. Also, wasn't there a comment in a video saying that all Su's kids loked a bit like Sokka, and the official atla chanel liked that comment, and ONLY that comment? Anyone remembers that??

I’m so early omg Btw Korra blushing at asami 🤭 Also I love how asami and Korra trust in each other not saying anything when they make decisions but mako be questioning them it shows how close they are they have such a great bond I love them total ship and looks like Korra rly took those driving lessons with asami seriously also idk if u noticed but asami new car is in Korras colours and she made it while she was gone it shows how much she missed her plus the secret letters and Korra helping asami on the Train but just ignoring mako all the more reasons to ship them and Korra holding asami while they jump off the train to protect her and when she pushed wu away as they hugged she let go of mako and carefully kept hugging asami plus she was resting her head on asami instead of mako something that would’ve never happened in the past is just precious and also when asami complemented Korra she lowered her vice like how women *usually* do when flirting with either men or women so yea total ship

Korra and Asami have many similarities in their story though they differ in many other personality things. - They are both famous figures. Korra is the Avatar and Asami is a very important CEO. Such positions carry great responsibilities, public opinion ‘s judgment, and pressure. They are also young women which makes it tougher for their voices to be heard. Those positions are a huye part of their identities, and, specislly to Korra, these are their only identities possible. So they think they have to live up to it. -They both lose so much. Korra loses her bending, her past connections, almost her life. Asami sees her father get thrown to jail because of the horrible things he has done, so she linda loses her dad whom she had always thought as role model. She loses her company. - Korra’s identity as the Avatar and the need of an Avatar is questioned every single season. In Asami’s case, she is questioned and falsely declared equalist just because her father was one. That also makes her lose supporters to her enterprise. They both have to constantly prove they are worthy of having their positions. -They are both very loyal and are willing to sacrifice huye things for their loved ones. Korra almost gives her life for the new air nation. Asami is willing to set aside her whole life of Republic City to move with Korra to the Southern Pole (uhhmm… that’s suspicious :)) ). I also think they complement each other very well because: -They understand each other Without the need to articulate words even. They hardly ever question each other’s decisions. That is not the case with Mako. You can see it in this episode, he complains because Asami does not drive the car the way he sees convenient (although Asami’s idea was very good), and he complains about Korra’s “Avatar instincts” when he is the one in charge of Wu. - They understand the similarities of their stories. - Even in combat they syncronize so well. -They see each other as a safe space to open up to, someone to trust. Korra only writes to Asami and does not complain when Asami offers to guard her while she is in the Avatar state. She also trusts her to carry her father, who is injured on s2, on new Appa safely to Katara’s healing area. Asami opens up about her father and her decission to try to forgive him. In s3, instead of Asami hiding the fact that she kissed Mako again, she tells Korra the truth and they both laugh about it. And the fact that they understand and don’t question each other shows great trust. Although I get it if Asami doesn’t trust Korra to drive a car or any vehicle that’s not a polar bear dog. She might be the Avatar but in this one she better be co-pilot. -Korra often shows a pessimistic view of her deeds and the deeds of the world and the conseqyences, but Asami is there to Help her realize that there are good things too. There are many more things to comment on them, and there are signals that they like each other. But many people do not see them. If it was a hetero ship, not LGBT+, and one of them offers to set aside his/her life to accompany the other in their great trauma, if the other sends a letter only to that person, if one of them compliments in a sexy and not friendly tone the other’s hair, if the other one blushes at that commentary… Would the people have considered them as just friends? Or would have they thought that there is something going on the very first second?

I get why Asami gets angry at Korra and kind of snaps at her. From the last half of s1, she has had to deal with: finding out that her father is an equalist, and having to choose what is right over the last remaining member of her family; having to electrocute her father twice to stop him, getting almost killed by him, by someone who she does not now recognize because he is blinded by hatred; seeing him thrown in jail; being judged and falsely declared equalist by the public opinion just because her father was one; becoming the CEO of one of the most powerful companies all over the world (and being a CEO when you are a woman and young is much tougher); her company being on red numbers because she loses many clients and supporters because of the bad image her father left; losing her company for some time because she’s been betrayed and robbed by Varrick (and the company is a huge part of her identity, just like being the Avatar has always been to Korra); receiving the letters from someone so close to you yet who has betrayed you in so many ways and has even tried to kill you. And, despite all of that, she has managed to accompany the Krew to every mission and voyage. She’s even been the Appa of Team Avatar 2. She has such good morals and so much love. She has been there for her friends unconditionally. When the whole love triangle existed (for too long), she was never angry particularly at Korra but at Mako. We often see these triangles in movies and shows, and the girls hate and try to destroy each other for the man. Asami is not like that. She is just, she is patient, she is loyal, she is a huge support specially for Korra. And we barely see her snapping at someone and we barely see the Krew or the story itself focusing on her struggles. So, in this reunion scene, Asami opens up to the Krew, despite not having seen them for a long time, about something so intimate to her and about a tough and pre-meditated decission. She is aware of what her father has done, like, she even got almost killed by him. So, being ready to try to forgive him is a huge step, a beginning for a process of making amends with him and herself. So, if I were Asami opening up about something so personal and so complicated, and if Korra (not with bad intentions) comes to me asking that, and in a tone that is a bit judgmental in my opinion, like “Hey, maybe you are wrong”, using words such as “manipulate”, after not having seen each other for 3 years, ofc I would get angry. And ofc Korra must not to blamed for not coming earlier, each one has their pace and must be respected, but I don’t expect to reunite with my friends and in the first 5 minutes for them to be judging my decissions, haré decissions which I am aware of. Also, Korra is a very important person to her (I ship them too, their stories have so much in common, and they complement each other very well, they rarely put the other into question unlike Mako, who is often complaining about why did they not do this the way he ha wished). So not seeing that important person for so long must have been tough for her. Maybe that’s why she says “You don’t get to disappear for 3 years”.

I went to see on Patreon that you have already finished the series, and I'm not a Patreon subscriber, but I should have said before that in the last scene of the series you should have given a kiss, to make everyone happy and that they wanted a kiss from Azami and Korra in the end, it just didn't exist because at the time it wasn't widely accepted... hugs 🤗

I never really got the idea that Su could be Sokka and Toph's daughter Yeah Baatar looks a bit like him and Toph had a crush on Sokka, but so did she with Zuko, and the writers seem to prefer the relationship Sokka had with Suki I guess that's fine as a headcanon, but I don't think there's as much basis for it as some people claim
