Still though they really should have been so much more supportive of him, he never should have been so alone and distraught that he turned to drugs.
@emilie90813 жыл бұрын
That's true, but we also don't really know what John and Anita's relationship was like behind closed doors. He could have been in absolute bits by her passing, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a toxic love either. He seemed eager to impregnate her before she was ready, and I was surprised to find out that only 3 years after meeting Anita needed a break from "all the fighting"... For example, my ex would have been absolutely destroyed if I passed, especially in a similar way, and a lot of John's coping mechanisms reminded me of my his. However, my ex was abusive and truly had a very toxic love/obsession for me; I felt a prisoner in my relationship. My parents did not like him at all and would not have supported him through my loss had that happened to me, and I wouldn't have wanted them to either. BUT, I'm definitely not assuming that John is like that; it's just to give you a different perspective :)

my brother was murdered last year in november at age 33. my mum has been really struggling, of course, and last week when I called her she was talking about how whenever she types his name on her phone it comes up with "ashes" or "funeral". I asked her if she wanted me to tell her how to reset predictive text so she didn't have to keep being reminded of it all the time and at first she said yes but then she said she couldn't bear the thought of her phone forgetting him. it's hard to find peace in yourself after a tragic loss but that really hit my heart. I think sometimes people want justice so badly that don't even think about the family and friends of the victim. Their goal was to enrage the public so there's pressure put on police and people are more likely to come forward with info however at the same time they caused unbelievable pain to the family of Anita.

I am just crying here. My heart hurts for Anita, for John and for Anita's family. This is why not all people should have children. If you can't take care of your children, raise them to be responsible citizens, if you can't nurture them to be good and caring people, then don't freaking have children! Do. Not. Have. Children.

As an Australian I would like to say thank you so much for covering this devastating tragedy. I remember I was 13 at the time, I witnessed so many people had signs up everywhere demanding the hanging of these vile creatures. I once saw a cattle truck from the slaughter yards with huge white tarps with the words “ HANG THE BASTARDS” in huge lettering. That’s when I first heard about this horrific event as I asked what the truck signage was all about. It totally shocked and disgusted me at the time and the memory of seeing that truck has never left me. I’m so very glad they were all arrested and made to take accountability for their appalling and cowardly behaviour and actions. No one deserves what happened to this beautiful young woman and they deserved every single beating and every attack they ever received. Thankfully her parents and loved ones got the justice they so deserved knowing these monsters will never see the outside ever again. Very well covered with all the respect this young lady earned and deserved. Thank you Eleanor. 💕

Yes!! I’m too young to have been around when this happened but my nan tells me all the time her experience with these guys… no one talks about this case when they do true crime videos, no one cares about Australian crime unless it gets them likes and views and sadly Australian stories are not interesting to anyone who doesn’t live in Australia, Eleanor does what is right she is an angel 💕

The disturbing nature of what happened to Anita really reminds me of the Junko Furuta case. I'm glad that all perpetrators were convicted here unlike the other case; you don't often get that kind of justice for victims of horrific crimes a lot of times.

There is a huge difference between holding hate towards someone and choosing to forget that person. When you harbor hate or anger, that means that person still has some sway over you. But, if you just forget they exist, then they truly mean nothing to you. It’s far more freeing for some victims and families to never think of the perpetrators ever again. A person can’t hurt you if you don’t ever have a thought about them again and they cease to exist to you.
@amaristhecrow70843 жыл бұрын
If like these men, they are put away, sure. You can’t forget those still out there. Anger can drive you to get justice and protect others in the future. Counseling gave me that perspective. Everyone thinks anger is always bad. But it’s the push we need to fight, to change something wrong, and to stand up to things that have happened. So it’s not always a bad thing to have anger help you get the justice you deserve.
@ariellak48673 жыл бұрын
@@amaristhecrow7084 While I agree anger can be useful, I think the struggle people have at times is keeping control of it so it CAN be useful. I know that's the case for me. I have a temper & have found that anger the opposite of useful even if justified. It can be motivating if I am able to keep it under control, but most of the time it just consumes my thoughts unproductively instead. It scatters my brain & focuses me on the wrong things in a situation (how I feel vs what I can do) - therefore not allowing me to achieve my goal or convince/get the behaviour to stop. That's how I've seen many people deal with anger as well (through family, my job, etc), which is why I think it's more than just a me problem. I agree it is useful as an indicator that action needs to be taken though - I just try to let it go right after that ❤
