Anneke's voice and the instrumental parts create a sound with an undertone of melancholy, sadness, joy and a longing for something intangible from another, profound reality. What an epic song from The Gathering.

Idk your country but the Gathering was well known in my country and they even play some songs on the radio, not top 40 hits shit but it was present like other "alternative" bands at that time, today i agree with you, radios sucks mayor ass in term of the music they play

It's 2022 and I'm glad i finally found them.. was a huge Theatre of Tragedy fan since I was 12 yo, glad to find another slower doomier band w/ strong, clear, classically trained female vocals, Anneke expresses the spirit within music & voice as instrument. Wish I'd heard of them decades ago but I live under a rock!

@@somegirl558 Yea Their first album is "Always" Also i consider their best album is also "Always" As far as i remember it wasnt Anneke's influence. Anneke joined the band after second album. Bart smits left the band via musical differences while they were writing second album.

One of the most beautiful solos ever, its talking back to her, like she wanted something bad but it couldn't happen unless she just let it go to the higher energy and as she lets go , the world starts going to work making it happen as her now stresses stop the natural flow of life and its constant ever giving to us, like the guitar slowly on its way to triumph the situation for her as she sleeps. All your hard work pays off, but u have to let go of going on automatic over stressing eventually or overworking because you did so much of it on your own,,,we must never forget the millions of things that we cant see that brings every second of life to us, every experience.
