01:55 finally, someone showing the practical application of the ergonomic comfort grip. For moving that pulley perhaps a 25" ratchet or breaker bar would help. Fine instructional video and review.

The 120xp didn’t have really fine teeth. It actually has LESS teeth than the 90 and 84 teeth ratchets. The 120xp actually only has 60 teeth but two palls that take turns engaging.

You are right sir. I have the 120xp ratchet set. I love them. 😎

Now Harbor Freight needs to make these same ratchets in their Quinn 90 tooth line like they did for the non-flex heads. I just prefer the comfort grips on the Quinn over the Gearwrench and the internals appear to be identical. If they don't come out with them, I'll for sure get the Gearwrench which has a descent online warranty and only slight less convenient as walking in to your local store. Being able to walk into my local store is a huge plus for me especially if you are in the middle of a job. Of course, having back ups is a must no matter what. Two is one, and one is none when doing a job or a project.

I don't care for ratchets or wrenches with rubber handles as they are usually more trouble than they are worth and wear faster than the actual tool. I ordered the non rubber handle set and I can't wait to start using them! I have an old Huskey 3/8 flex head that served its purpose but the tooth count is way too low and now that I've expanded the DIY projects I take on in my car I need something more robust. The Gearwrench flex head ratchet set will be a great addition to my toolset!

That’s way they make both. I like the non-Comfort grip as well.

@@HowtoAutomotive . Nice! I like the traditional look and I think it will last decades. Cheers!

I appreciate a comfort grip when it's 5 degrees out.

Hi How to Automotive (how do the comfort handles) on the 90T (hold up can you do a LONG term review)? Flex head/locking ones?

Is the flex head lock metal or plastic. I have a buddy that got locking flex head ratcheting wrenches and the plastic locker broke.

Thanks Brian. You always have something special for us. Liked them very much and have to order them.

How do these compare to Snap On’s locking flex head ratchets. I can buy some in Ebay for alot less than on a Snap On truck.
@HowtoAutomotive4 жыл бұрын
Every snap on locking ratchet I’ve owned has broken. But I’ve learned to live with the broken locking head and kind of like it that way. So far I have never broke a GearWrench ratchet.
@HowtoAutomotive4 жыл бұрын
You also have to be careful buying snap on tools on eBay. There are a lot of fakes out there.
@weduhpeople85044 жыл бұрын
@@HowtoAutomotive Thanks I’ll buy the 90t Gear wrench set without the comfort grips
@nsmturbo59023 жыл бұрын
@@weduhpeople8504 these are very similar to my Matco set. In my opinion Snap-On ratchets aren't that great. I also would not buy "truck" tools from eBay.

Hello, is there a lot of free play (left and right) in the ratchet head?
@HowtoAutomotive4 жыл бұрын
Ashun999 there’s a little bit but I wouldn’t consider it excessive

Brian how’s the gear wrench creeper holding up ?
@HowtoAutomotive4 жыл бұрын
Juan Heredia very well. Not a tool I use everyday but nice to have.
@scuba4221234 жыл бұрын
do you think they can come close to a matco or snappy brian i dont know but you are looking younger and younger in every vid!
@HowtoAutomotive4 жыл бұрын
scuba422123 Thank you for the compliment. I would say the right up there especially when it comes to the price. You can buy all three ratchets for almost the price of one Snap on or Matco

Put a cheater bar on an expensive flex head ratchet? No thanks. I have a few comparatively cheap long breaker bars for that!

GearWrench tools are bad ass. I really like my metric tap and die kit. See ya on IG. Cheers from England!

I just got these and am extremely disappointed. The heads feel loose and sloppy and can barely hold their own weight. The non locking 120xp flex I've used for 2 years feels way higher quality. I guess I'll be biting the bullet and buying snapon or trying to find locking 120xp versions if those exist

Save your money and buy the huskey 100p dual pawl locking flex is the same as the 120 and warranty is far better

100 position? How many teeth does it have? I dont like that bs marketing. If it doesnt have 100 teeth, dont put 100 in the name
