Love it! Just got mine running again after ten years! I've kept mine clean all these years and in an enclosed carport, so he still looks great! My long-term plans are to do a restomod version of Lee 3! Love what you're doing with yours, the early GA cars are the best in my estimation!

Hello mate, love these cars. Currently building an 84 series3 jag, but I'm painting it jagB.R.G, painting a George's flag on the roof. It's name will be the fairfax. He was oliver cromwells general in our civil war. It'll be a homage to the Dukes of hazzard. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Love your General Lee. I have a 69 Dodge Charger SE with a 383HP with 84k original miles. When I restored it I did do some GL items. One thing I suggest if you haven’t done already is paint the metal behind the grill and headlight doors. Yours is Orange as was mine because when I painted it. It will look much more correct and it did come from the factory matte black. Best of luck with those both. I also have a 1976 Dodge Coronet Police Pursuit retired CHP with its original 440 engine. When they went to CA, they used retired CHP Monacos and Furys when they were available. Mine also has the single round light but some of single them were used when they first went to CA because at that time CHP was retiring those 75-76 Dodges. 01 changed season to season. During the dukes run 3 diff group of ppl built the Lee's including WB towards the end. All push bars were welded on even to the bumpers,they changed to wider ones to save on the grills and didnt hang as low as the small bars,all the closeup cars were black under the hood. Interior was buckskin until the later episodes when they went to the light ford color. Cross flags they stopped after the first 4 episodes. The TV series Lee's always had the VT trim however in some episodes they did paint on top of them but did have them.The reunion cars had super skinny 01s except John's personal car that was used in dukes go to Hollywood. Tail light panel boo boo was in hazzard reunion.

There were quite a few scenes throughout the series with a General Lee that had no vinyl top trim, and I have screenshots of many of them. Not all '68 and '69 Dodge Chargers came with a vinyl top to begin with (about 25% of them didn't), which means they never had vinyl top trim, nor the mounting holes at the base of the C-pillar for it. When they happened to buy a Charger that never had a vinyl top, they didn't go find some vinyl top trim, drill some holes for it, and install it, they just left it as-is. And yes, I know the difference between orange-painted vinyl top trim and no vinyl top trim at all, obviously. You can start with "The People's Choice." There are plenty of clear shots of a General Lee with no vinyl top trim in that episode. "Granny Annie," "The Treasure of Hazzard," "Follow That Still," "The Runaway," and "Officer Daisy Duke" are some more episodes you can watch. The vinyl top trim _should_ have been deleted on all of the Chargers that came with it, since vinyl top trim on a car that has no vinyl top (like the General Lee) looks stupid, but they were apparently too lazy to do so.

While that is probably the most accurate explanation of the color, when the valuzets built the cars they would call and order code 70 paint to use that color back then was corvette flame red

@kelly-green I think the reason why they used a 1968 is because of the way the body was built and was easy to convert a '68 to a '69, but use the sound of a 1968 charger from Bullitt as the cars in the show were all automatic and John Schneider proved it
