What did you think of The Gentlemen Netflix show? I was waiting for an iconic scene like in the movie with Colin Farrell in the cafe, and I thought it was gonna come with John Dixon at the end! So i'm a bit gutted about that. But i'm interested to hear what you thought on this show. Let me know your thoughts below!

I am personally a Big Guy Ritchie fan he is My favorite Director of all time and i enjoyed it With that Said My fav’ episode was episode 2 The next best episode would Be for Me The first episode But i did find parts that was disappointing so as The episode with The Lamborghini i wasnt as engaged in that episode and The same with The Gypsys tho’ i would say The ending to those 2 episode Are still good And last i found it a bit Odd Why We didnt Saw The shoutout between The Liverpool gangsters in The Mansion I also find Freddy Eddie’s brother anoying not perfomance wise but how he is faulted on so many Things to Eddie and many of The problems in The show I rate it 8/10 and it would Be Nice with a season 2 in The future

Geoff's subplot doesn't take too much screentime and helps cement his role as a father figure. Also Vinnie Jones' acting was amazing.

Geoff was a crucial character because he provided a point of stability and trust. This gave the audience an occasional break from all the 'badness' going on... just as Eddie was able to collect his thoughts, get some support and 'home' his perspective in truth, we were able to as well. It made the twists seem less arbitrary, and made them way more effective. I also don't know why people talk about how the middle part was 'boring,' or didn't contribute to the story.

Depends on what you feel is important I guess. Being an incredible and consistent type cast can earn you a lot of money, but it’ll stunt your artistic development as an actor, but the thing is that Giancarlo Esposito has had a very long career as an actor before he made it big with Gus. There is no artistic development to really sacrifice - he’s old now and therefore, I think he should really lean into this type cast so he can make a bunch of money and enjoy life

Are we certain he did? They never showed the body. They usually do scenes like that to create leverage during contract negotiations. Like how in the recent Spiderman movie, Aunt May died and Peter's friends had their memory wiped. Marisa Tomei probably already said no but the others probably still needed a deal worked out. There probably will be some new bad guy next season, either one or the other trying to move on. Or it could be the cops.

I like the fact there's no romance in this, it would ruin it and they have a good business relationship. I felt there was way more sexual chemistry between the blond girl and him, you could see it was more his type and would bang her no problem versus the other girl. I like them as friends tbh and it's not always necessary to have romance between a guy and a girl.

I really enjoyed it, especially after a second watch, there were a ton of foreshadowing that flew over my head the first round, like: 1. Susie expanding the plantation underground with entrance thru the stables and therefore bringing in new generators in episode 4, which were then stolen by the Wards in episode 5 2. Jimmy revealing to Gabrielle that theirs is only 1 out of 12 bases of production in episode 5, which is how Stevens shared with Eddie in episode 7 that they 'believed there are 11 more' aside from his house that the Glass family has under their pocket. By that time Jimmy hadn't known yet they acquired 2 more properties, so Eddie surprised Stevens ('13, actually') These were only a few that I was able to spot idk, moments like these are interesting to pick at

I wish Eddie and Susie had a chance to have at least one romantic moment. It is, as with all Guy Ritchies work, a master piece. Two strories running parralell to one another. The virtuous light bearer who wants to eradicate the darkness but realising you must know the darkness like you know your own face and this means having to play them at their own game in order to forfil your will. Mr Winstones character knows this all too well and Mr Glass is lining up a move with Mr Johnstone in readiness for action to prevent the light becoming so bright that his battle is no longer a fight. The second story is the cannanite evil doers with no god (soul) who control all facets of oir socierty and will stop at nothing to remain in power and control. Hacking you to pieces in a carpark is just in a days work. The light must rise and shine so bright on the dark that no corner is left where it can hide.

She also screamed at the black guy he is "racist", and he just told her "traveller, gipsy, there is no difference." what destroys the woke narrative Illusion that only "white men" can be racist. So, I think It was like MOCKING the woke rather than supporting it, but also in clever way since when a 'white man" would have insulted her like that there would be a Mainstream backlash.

Great seeing Vinnie being a different sort of character than he normally is. It is a Guy Ritchie series through and through. Full of little surprises! Really in my opinion very enjoyable, and watchable to the extreme. If you love lock stock and also snatch, the film "the gentlemen" included. You will love this, as long as you love long format. This sho is a brilliant commedic version of Breaking Bad plot with Walt only selling drugs in the beginning to cure Cancer and care for his family but then sticking to the Drug empire when he relises that he's good at it. Even the Main bad guy Gus Fringe from Breaking Bad selling Meth plays the same character with a different name. The idea of the Prison coming from Escobar, who built his own luxury prison called La Catedral.

As much as I enjoyed this I was still confused if this is a direct spin off to the film or just the same idea with no direct interaction with the film. I thought from the film this was Matthew's business so I assume it's Guy playing off the same plot with different characters. Am I correct in this? I still would have liked a direct spin off with Charlie's character and Coach. I know Matthew's a big time actor and can't be involved in a series but maybe a cameo of him would have been nice.
@dickriggles942
@dickriggles942 9 ай бұрын
Doesn't appear so. It's just a TV spinoff. It's not impossible for them to show up. McConnaughey and Charlie have careers that have fallen off a lot. Remember, Kaya Scoladario and Theo James used to be decent movie stars too, along with some others. The industry is shifting more towards TV now. Movie theaters are dead.

Geoff had to be related due to the overt family theme. Why would anyone else be so loyal unless they were family? Along with the gangster themes was the overlaying family theme over and over again. Brother defending brother. Brother avenging brother. Daughter father and the business. I could go on and on however every episode the family theme was there.

I think more than anything Eddie knows that the only real way to protect his family is to be at the top of the food chain. Doesn't have to have full control but enough to know what's going on at every point. He's good at playing the gentleman's game yes, but it's not for excitement or because he's trying to be a gangster. It's because he's seen how downhill you go if you try to say no to these gangsters. So he might as well play the game to protect his family. Which coincidentally is what his family has been doing for generations. I loved it because it shows how not so simple responsibilities are in this world. Like look at Mickey Pearson. He tried to get out and the moment others sensed weakness they came in. That's why to me Mr Glass doesn't want to really sell. He'll have no control over these assets and players. The thrill is there, yes. But they don't do it for the thrill. They do it to survive. Hence the whole jungle and zoo theme. You're either surviving in the jungle or living like waste 🗑 in the zoo. That's my take though.

I honestly liked the side quest aspect of the middle of the season. Gave the world a more fleshed out feeling and let us into the daily goings on of the various players involved in this criminal game. Not everything needs to be building up to a huge crescendo 24/7. That kind of serialized storytelling can get tiring and potentially up its own arse sometimes, at least for me.
