I always loved watching George's Show. When I was a kid if you asked me who my choice of The King of Country Music was, I always said, George Glen Jones. He was, is & always will be the King of Country Music for me. I have many favorites besides George growing up of all styles of music, too. But, it all comes back to my very 1st real huge favorite which was The Possum. :)

I agree with you. I have many favorite songs from almost anyone that exists in the music business of all styles. I am such a music buff. As for Glen Campbell, my childhood favorite was, is & always will be Rhinestone Cowboy. It was a real treat years ago to see this episode on tv of him singing it again. I couldn't get enough of that song of his throughout my lifetime. I still hit the repeat button multiple times in a row with this song. It is a classic like all his songs were: Gentle on My Mind, Wichita Lineman & on & on. :)

Except for Marty Stuart and Connie Smith, there aren't music shows like this today. The music factory shows is what we get today. Thanks so much for posting this great show. Glen Campbell is so talented. A very young Kenny Chesney.

As long as youtube doesn't pull them for any copyright reasons I will continue to post the shows. I don't know whether they will or not since TNN no longers exists, and I am not posting these to make money... they may just leave them alone... I hope! Keep your fingers crossed! I wanted to post them because I had so many emails asking me to... and so younger fans can get a chance to see the show. It's too bad they never released these shows on DVD, sorry about the aging VHS quality...

What I told you yesterday was incorrect... I just found out last night (from another youtube user) that this last past November (2012) that TNN is back on the air! That is GREAT news, but it may not be such good news for keeping these George Jones episodes on youtube.... But, maybe TNN will re-air these episodes??? I am going to email TNN and maybe get permission?? Does anybody think that is what I should do?? Since I am not making any money or claiming any rights maybe they will allow it?

I was one of the biggest country music fans as a kid. Which would have included the time frame of when this was taped. I knew every song and every artist, but for the life of me, I have no idea who this lady is! I dont even understand how she could have gotten signed to a label, singing like this. She sounded pitiful. There had to be something more to her getting signed, other than her singing. 🤨

Cool, the real talent here is Glen tho....
@KLUNKET8 жыл бұрын
I would agree that when it comes to picking Glen was better than most- the man was INSANELY talented! I will never forget seeing him play the William Tell Overture live while holding his guitar behind his head! He even played the bagpipes at that same show! He was an unimaginably talented guitarist- and unfortunately he gets too little recognition for it. When it comes to vocals however, I'd have to give that one to George ;-)
