That kind of German hammer is very ingenious. Estwing from the USA has the Latthammer in their catalog.

I've seen this type of hammer made by Hultafors, but I've never seen anyone here in Norway use one. And then I finally found this great video explaining it's history and use. Thanks! It's on sale now, might buy one.

Also widely used by slaters for punching holes through the slate to hang or cut a rough shape. Slate hammers look similar.

I'll put an adze sharpened California framer on match to your hammer any day. less wrist and shoulder strain with mine and same functions. Yours will be a close second.

What brand is that hammer anyway? Geodore? I bet many people in North America have accidentally ordered a latthammer and just thing is a faulty hammer with a claw missing.

Ich bin nämlich deutscher nur stört mich die Spitze und der kurze Stiel die spitze ist dann nützlich wenn man am Dachstuhl arbeitet oder mit Fachwerk zutun hat aaaaber wenn ich jetzt an 150er nägel denke ... klar das geht aber es zieht im arm nach 20 Schlägen ein 30oz framing hammer mit seinem langen Stiel bekommt erhaben mehr donner drauf Die Spitze ist nicht schlecht wenn man viel mit dicken Balken arbeitet was in deutschland zu 90% der fall ist aber ich hab für mich entdeckt das ein rip oder framing hammer meine 1 Wahl ist wenns drum geht richtig zu arbeiten auch der Zollstock ist so ein Ding... was soll daran bitte besser sein klar wenn man estrich macht oder ähnliches ist der Zollstock besser da er erhaben günstiger ist aber beim messen von langen Bauteilen kann man das 2m faltholz getrost vergessen ich habe bestimmt 20 deutsche zimmermannshammer aber seit ich den ersten framing hammer in der hand hatte sind die irgendwie ungenutzt geblieben die klaue sagt mir mehr zu die Spitze Ist mir nicht mehr im Weg und nägel versenke ich mit der Hälfte der Kraft und einem Drittel der Schläge in Deutschland wird eben anders gebaut als in den usa wobei sich die Massivbauweise auch immer mehr zurück ziehen muss und die Holzrahmenkonstruktion immer mehr kommt der Aufwand und die Kosten sind eben geringer es geht schneller und ist leichter umzubauen ...

Stilleto titanium hammers with straight timber handles are my favorite. That German hammer looks interesting though, 👍😁🔨🔨🇩🇪 🇮🇪
