Dado! I played a cup, something like a “World Cup for Croatian teams outside of Croatia” (yes, very niche 😂). That year it was held in Villefranche, next to Monaco, France. When we landed, we got picked up my multiple cars. I started talking to our driver. A very talkative and seemed to be a super nice guy. I started asking him how come he lives in France and so on. He answers “I played a little football here in Monaco a long time ago, and just liked it here”. I took a better look, and understood that our driver is Dado Pršo, but without the long hair. He was managing the Croatian team from Villefranche. “Are you Dado Pršo!?”, he laughs and says “Yeah…”. Point of the story: Amazing player, and seemed to be a super down to earth person also.

Pršo carried Croatian team that is considered by many the worst one since independence. That away goal vs Slovenia was legendary, Croatia just went down to 10 players in 2nd half while still drawing 0-0 (Slovenia would go to Euros on away goals with that result) and Pršo scored just 2 minutes later. You can hear commentator scream "We needed 10 players to score!" Just one thing: Please be careful while you look at the assist stat at transfermarkt for older years since in some games there is no info on who asissted goals. Otherwise love your videos

A video on Tommy Coyne would be great. People forget about him but he was the top scorer in the league with three different teams which is just insane and will likely never be replicated. Back when Scottish football was still decent.
@Hercules_886 ай бұрын
when Tommy Coyne was playing Scottish teams didnt get to Euro finals. Not sure about your comment, as if standard was great then. He wasnt great. Liam Boyce was top scorer in SPFL a few years ago, playing for Ross County!. Never heard a fan say "mind that Tommy Coyne goal... OR mind that Liam Boyce goal."
@seancomrie47146 ай бұрын
@@Hercules_88 You're very obviously wrong about that and I'll explain it to you like I would a small, rude child. Tommy Coyne had just left Dundee United the season before they got to the UEFA cup final, four years after Aberdeen won the Cup Winners Cup and Coyne had first signed for United... So he was playing for one of the strongest teams in the strongest era of Scottish football. Scottish teams have done well in Europe a handful of times, but the 80's was far and away the height of Scottish football strength in Europe and that was with Aberdeen and Dundee United, the New Firm. The 60's had one standout, the 2000's had the Old Firm just glad to get to the finals and that was after spending so heavily that one of them basically dissolved. I don't think I have ever seen somebody be so thoroughly wrong about something that they had no reason to chip in about, it's almost impressive how comprehensively incorrect your comment was.

Dado's heart examine results were real, not fiction from football circles but from specialist medical cardiologist circles. He had something detected, was it due to un-sportsmen life as teenager in Split, or it was some deviation from normal which in his case wasn't dangerous - it showed later. Remember that many young sportsmen die on football field today, because their deviations wasn't considered dangerous by trainers - as cardiologists often mention. He was really talented, but he was in generation there were better than he in that team, so nobody cares a lot, - send him out, I don't want him to fall on field during match.

Miladin (Dado) Pršo, actually born into a Serbian family from Obrovac in Zadar's Vicinity, changed his name to be more compatible with the newfound Croatian state (or rather less compatible with the Serbian one). His parents fled the country as well, on the eve of the war, relocating to Serbia. Milan Pršo, a former Serbian player is his paternal nephew. Both were raised in the same town of Obrovac. A disclaimer: As a Serbo-Croat myself, I strongly encourage my paisans from both sides to stick their potential bickering comments where the sun doesn't shine. These are facts and his choosing to declare as a Croat is also a fact that has to be respected - much like we all respect him as a player and respect what he was able to achieve throughout his career.

Why are you lying? When did he "declare as a Croat"? And when did he "change his name"? He never did that. He never "declared" himself anything other that what he was - a citizen of Croatia of Serbian ethnicity. Just like Milan ''Miki'' Rapajić was, for example. There is nothing wrong with that. And "Dado" was, at the time, a common nickname for someone named Miladin, just like Stipe is for Stjepan or Bobo is for Slobodan or Pero is for Petar. So, in short, you are full of.... well, you know what
