Hey Dylan! My husband and I met you at the Garage this afternoon. You were SO incredibly nice to us starting in the Epiphone room going all the way to the Gibson room. We finally found a Gibson we wanted to try, but then of course we couldn't find YOU! The other salesperson wasn't as willing to get something down for us to try, so we ended up leaving. On the way home (we are from Alabama) I was like WAIT A MINUTE! I think that was the guy from the Casino Guitars video! All this to say, we will be back, we are in the market, and we will make sure you're working that day. Thanks for being SO incredibly nice to me today.

@DeirdreSM3 жыл бұрын
It is a $195 (on up) upcharge at Warmoth to have the specific top chosen, though, and you only get to see a small photo of it. That's on top of the $75 lam top charge.
@louderthangod3 жыл бұрын
But no set neck and definitely no Gibson headstock. If you’re spending 10k on a guitar an extra grand isn’t likely to mean anything.
@frogbastard3 жыл бұрын
I totally agree.Choose your slab of wood,and we will charge you an extra Grand.I refuse to be coned into going down that rabbit hole.11.5 grand for the Tom Murphy guitar? Too much hype.Want to age your guitar,leave it in your car one winter night then bring it inside and immediately open the case and Voila,it's been aged.Cost free
@DeirdreSM3 жыл бұрын
I'm not a huge fan of headstock shapes and especially not logos on headstocks, so I actually prefer the no-logo aspect of Warmoths. As someone who really falls for specific wood looks, I very often will look at sites' photos of specific guitars to see which guitar I want to buy (which is one reason I bought my Taylor from Casino). I also disagree with you on the extra grand: some of the wealthiest people I've known have been the least likely to go for certain upsells.
@GraniteSoundtrack3 жыл бұрын
People can spend how they want. It's their money. But, what you're really paying for in these circumstances is the name Gibson, Gibson Custom, Tom Murphy and Murphy Labs. It's not 1 for 1 guitar to dollar. Never has been for Gibson. Well, maybe in the 50s it was. It's like Harley Davidson.

@sawblade37217 Жыл бұрын
I agree. I couldn't believe they charge $1,000 just to choose guitar top, especially since the cost of raw materials and glue (could be Titebond II or Titebond III) is small in contrast to the cost of choosing your own top. I also doubt the cost of labor contributes to such a gross increase in cost. I gave Gibson a shot as recent as yesterday and I still don't feel a strong interest in their products, they're just too heavy and the price doesn't reflect the features when compared to other manufacturers.
