A marriage will withstand what ever people put it through if they always put the other first....believe me, I know where of I speak. I've been married to the most wonderful man for 34 years. If he's home 1 day a week I feel fortunate. He is a cross country Truck Driver. I'll never forget the day we married, my Dad said "you are going into this marraige knowing he won't be home all the time, I don't want to hear you complain to him or your Mother because he's never home". I saw a PR photo of John in 1974. When Jessie accepted the Grammy for her dad after his death she put her head down and smiled her dad's smile. Jesse is grown up now and she looks like her dad and the rest of his relatives. John kept a close relationship with Jesse and the reason was he is her real father.
