I don't know who's really at fault that leads to their break up. Aside from giving his whole heart to the girl and the girl didn't give him anything in return, he also looks at other women and he only thinks of himself (when he plays loud music and didn't pay attention to his girlfriend while she was dressing up). I dunno, I think both sides are at fault or maybe they're really not designed to each other. Especially when the boy gave his whole heart only at first sight! I think that's also the mistake there, commiting to someone even though you still don't know that person very well. And maybe that was also the reason why they started to fall apart because their likes and dislikes do not connect. /sighs;

[My interpretation of this message] I was confused at the end of this video as to why he let the girl walk away with his sphere until I read some of the comments and realized something. The gift of the sphere represents this boyfriend's acclaimed love for her, and the reason it hurt when the girl here squished his sphere is that the sphere represents his "heart" also; it hurts when someone plays with your emotions. The boyfriend solely depended on her to represent his affections but did not recognize the responsibilities that come along with the relationship. However, the girlfriend only focused on the relationship, hence why she was so agitated whenever the boyfriend did not pay attention for any reason, and her squishing the sphere represented her expression of annoyance with her boyfriend, probably metaphorically passive-aggressively venting against him. At the end, when the girlfriend broke up and took the sphere with her, that represented how the boyfriend cannot keep whatever was made with his now ex-girlfriend, such as that he gave his sphere to her out of affection. The man couldn't close the door because he was already attached to the relationship he had with his ex, which is what we call heartbreak. The new girl that followed washing the man's jagged lines that surrounded him with her sphere represents her wanting to get to this man. Once she got to him, splitting her sphere in half represents a healthy balance of boundaries and responsibility between the two; a healthy relationship on both of their parts. This might apply to friendships as well. As for why the man was so grateful, I think it represents how a healthy relationship as mentioned before is much more fulfilling than a one-sided relationship. Hope I explained well, let me know if you have any thoughts.

To all those who are saying he is to blame for the end of their relationship as well: He gave her everything he had making himself vulnerable and with nothing to hold on and to take care of, that explains why he lost interest in doing things with her, he had nothing to take care of, she didn't put any effort into the relationship, what do you expect from him to do if the other part is not putting effort into what they share, she was selfish, she took what's his without giving anything back. I wish they used a slightly different visual metaphor at the end, one where the guy discovered he could grow a new blue ball thing of his own to give to the girl even as she gave him hers. That would convey a healthier dynamic, one where they're both self-sufficient in their love, instead of both of them sharing her heart, which kinda reads as dependency.

At 1:47, notice how she figured out bouncing his sphere on the ground hurts him on the inside. She pretended to throw it, and then laughing at his expense as if it's funny. I think this represents how she's playing with his emotions for her own entertainment (while disregarding that it's damaging to him) and making it seem like it was no big deal. The guy thought it was a big deal (He showed a clear sign he was hurting, averted his eyes when he thought she was gonna throw it, and was giving a hesitant laugh afterwards). But he still stuck with her because he wanted to give the relationship his all and to keep her happy, even though he saw what kind of person she is. She started noticing this. she started losing her control over the situation...THAT'S when the "problem" started. She left him and wanted to get the last laugh...so she took his heart. It wasn't her that he missed. It was his temporary feeling of feeling "fulfilled". Then a woman who felt it was worth it came along and put in work to break down the walls. The love she gave was equally yoked and it was actually HER he loved, not "love" itself.....Equal understanding. Love this.

Maybe I’m reading too much into it but- He gave her his heart. She didn’t give him hers. Some people love too easily, and tell themselves that they’re loved in return, even though they aren’t. Other people don’t love who they’re with, they just love being loved. If you aren’t receiving the love you need you’ll begin to disconnect, even if you don’t realise it. If you love being loved, but don’t return it, when their love fades, you’ll be out the door without a thought for the pain you cause.

This story seemed like what my professor discussed. When you get into a relationship without knowing yourself wholly you will most likely give yourself to others. When break-ups come, you cannot take back that piece that you have given because, before you even knew yourself, your relationship was what has given you a temporary identity. Thus if the relationship is gone, you fall into an identity-crisis. What the guy went through didn’t seem like a normal heart-break. He built barriers and was shaking all over, looking scared.
@ToddDouglasFox3 жыл бұрын
Enigma Sunder, no one knows themselves fully. Life is complex and so are relationships. People grow, change, get closer, move apart. Neither of them had enough maturity. The second woman was more mature, she allowed for the imperfections and unknowns, she even helped him out of his fear. She was able to lead in a healthy way and thereby make the relationship work well enough, even though this guy still fell asleep on her - she accepted his minor flaws and stayed with him.

Some people seem to say the moral was “don’t give everything to your partner, save some love for yourself.” But guys, even though finding in yourself to love who you are is extremely important in life, this was about relationships. The point is up to the viewer, but I think the message was more like “if you give yourself in full, with all your love to someone who will use that and never give anything in return only seeking more and more to take from you, you will be left without anything in you when that person isn’t satisfied anymore. A relationship, and the gift of your heart, is for mutual benefit. Both take and receive. To beat with one heart in each other, not held and abused.” Or something like that. To think that relationships is about reserving some of our own love and never giving everything is just not true. A true relationship is built on mutual respect and open honesty, bound by love and faithfulness (trust). That’s what I got out of this beautifully designed short film. 💙

The fact that even after she leaves him, she still doesn't give him back his heart - like, that's the definition of selfishness and cruelty. She ended the relationship because she grew to be unhappy, yet instead of leaving him to his own self-reflection and personal growth, and letting things be and focusing on healing and bettering herself, she wants him to suffer because _she_ suffers.
@jillianrobinette3714 жыл бұрын
I disagree I don't think that she was trying to make him suffer. if the blue ball represents his love for her then she can't really give it back because, he still loves her. the moral of the story is that you shouldn't give too much of yourself to another person and you need to keep some love for yourself. and it isn't selfish to leave a relationship because you aren't happy.
@jisookomblackpinkkru2564 жыл бұрын
@@jillianrobinette371 The blue ball (the heart) for me represents his personality and every good, genuine part of himself that he gave in the relationship so, including his love for her, yes. When she ends things with him though - even though he's sad about it - you can see that he asks for it back. She _chooses_ not to give it back to him because if you notice, when she turns around to leave and he stops her, she seems appalled that he'd ask for it back and her expression also changes to annoyance when he reaches for it. She takes it because she realizes that it's the only thing that can keep him together (as we can see the way he falls apart when he doesn't have it anymore), because it contains all the good and genuine parts of him that he gave her which are what satisfied her through the relationship before it went downhill, and she's selfish enough to not want him to have it because she wants him to experience what she did meaning sad, lost, frustrated, _suffering_ so no, she doesn't take it with her because it's tied to her through some deep, long lasting feelings he has for her still, she takes it because she _wants_ to take it because of her own selfish reasons. Yes, exactly that's the moral of the story. He gave her everything and in the end he was left with nothing because by being the who gave her everything, he taught her that it's okay to not give him anything in return - hence why she felt entitled to take the blue ball with her. I never said it's selfish to leave a relationship if you're unhappy, I meant the way she acted when she decided to end the relationship was pretty selfish. She wasn't happy with him anymore fine, she broke up with him but why she gotta do that? When a relationship ends - even on bad terms - you just want to say your piece, collect your things, hold your head high and go. You try to pick up little pieces of yourself day by day and you focus on making peace with what happened, move on and keep growing to become the best version of yourself, you don't channel your energy into punishing the other person and wasting your time by actively getting involved in their post break up journey. By refusing to give him his blue ball back she dictates how he's going to deal with the break up and by dictating how he's going to deal with the break up, she chooses not to focus on herself and torturing him like, that's so unhealthy. Anyhow, I wasn't trying to offend you or be rude in any way, this is just my opinion and I had a lot to say - boy this is a long ass reply lol sorry for the essay, I always rant about things that have no real effect in my life whatsoever 😂

I've been on both sides of the first relationship. Most of my relationships I was the female where I didn't open up to the other person while they did. I definitely was selfish, demanding and disapproving of things that they did, and I just never really got as attached to them as they did to me. When things started getting serious I would break things off. Recently I got out of a relationship where I was like the guy, I opened my heart to someone and shared my emotions. Sadly, they broke things off as they told me that they weren't fully over their ex. I felt used and worthless because another person had more influence over that relationship than I did. I've learnt valuable lessons from all of my relationships that I think will make my future relationships more successful. I don't think that either the girl or the guy in the video are at fault, I just think that they were inexperienced and expected things to always be happy and positive, whereas in reality life is full of ups and downs. It is important to love yourself before you love others otherwise chances are you'll get used and hurt. This video really resonated with me, really amazing.

What i have learnt is that after the person becomes lonely and depressed at 5:00. No one comes to help you. The latter part seemed fictional. No one cares about you. It is only you and YOU who has to create it. Yess, you need to create a new heart inside you. Friends and family can help you with it. Thats the best they can do. You need to become a strong person yourself and stand up on your feet defeating all your weakness and creating stronger you. No one came for my help when i was broken. I cured myself. No new partner or girl. Only my 1 true friend and my mom. They helped me out. I may seem cynical but people love strong people not heartbroken , lonely or depressed people. They can sympathize you, help? None. Just wanted to share my part of the story .

Vihs Warrior, yes, it can certainly happen the way you’ve seen and experienced it. But also there are many relationships in which a caring person reaches in to someone’s pain and fear and grief and the person comes out to start a new day. Think of the many relationships in which the partner died and the surviving partner shrivels up and hides. Sometimes someone comes along and sees the value in that person and even fights for them. This is more common than you might think. Of course many are left alone in their hiding place and those people either find a way on their own or they don’t ever heal. But don’t put it past our abilities to have a substantial influence of healing on another, even dogs and other animals help humans in this way!

Sometimes no'one comes to save you, instead it's someone who sees how vournable you are and exploits that. I don't like those people. They can break you...

Exactly. Your'e talking about the real life here. We were all vulnerable and idealistic when we were younger and in some tiny degree still are, but getting destroyed changes you. And we don't get saved. In the widness of the Ocean, you cant always expect the Coastguard so we have to swim by ourselves. Within that, real pride, strength and freedom can be found, I think. But in the end, everyone will drown and its a harsh, lonely life. For some more for some less but the biggest luck and the biggest sadness are just temporary like the tides. Hope and Disappointment and Happiness and Sadness are caused by the same stuff and define each other by their Experiencing. We need both tbh. But learning to control circumstances instead of being controlled by them is neccessary altough it feels hmm diffrent from our expectations. But they must have been wrong and we need to adapt.

@@Luis-vy9bm wow. That's some impactful words right there. And the comparisons to ocean... very well said honestly, I like it.
