I just changed the thermal paste on my 6650 xt eagle with Thermalright TFX, and used good thermal pads (as mine also ripped when taking off the cooler). DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU ARE NOT HAVING PROBLEMS. Even with good thermal pads I saw an increase of 8 Celsius to the GPU memory junction temperature.

Very informative video and well made! One question: if I need to clean thoroughly the fans, is there a way to remove only the top cover without removing the back plastic cover? To avoid repasting the heatsink basically
@HardwareForGamers Жыл бұрын
No, to remove the top cover the heatsink needs to come off. You can unscrew the fans without removing the heatsink which will give you a little more room to clean but not much more.

is this the same heatsync on the 6700xt eagle? I put one in the mini itx build for my wifes living room/couch gaming pc. But running games like Hogwarts and Atomic heart they MFer is loud as hell. I have it in a Silverstone Raven v2 case so the GPU basically sits in front of a vent to the outside and can draw in fresh air from left side of case. But I don't think the piddly lil fans pull much air in, so I am thinking of deshrouding and maybe have a custom brackey/shroud duct/made to partition the fan intake purely to the side grille.
@HardwareForGamers7 ай бұрын
Not sure if the heatsink is the same but I'm pretty sure the fans are, and yes they are shit. Not sure if this would work, but if you can create negative pressure in your case it will help the gpu fans get more fresh air.

@HardwareForGamers hmm I see, I got this card recently for a build to sell and beginning to realise how bad it is with temps. Card needs too run at 2300rpm to keep hotspot at 80c and that's undervolted 70mv as well. Unless I got a bad unit.
