The Red Rex of Isla Sorna was a massive Tyrannosaurus Rex in Jurassic Park Trespasser from 1998. It was originally supposed to be a canon part of the movies but is not more or less in a deuterocanonical lore section of the franchise. This giant dinosaur was a boss that lived in the Mayan Ruins of Site B and would be PERFECT for a future world movie.

The red coloring of the giant Rex might be from several factors. I guess that they cloned it and either through Experimentation or Accident, the Animal got more growth-hormones and Testosterone into it's Body. This would lead to bigger muscles and higher levels of Agression, which in Turn will make the Body pumped with more Blood and enhance the Metabolism. That causes the Body to be hotter, turning the comparatively thin Scales red. And that metabolism would also cause it to become hungry more easily, which makes it more agressive. That is a lethal downward spiral for the Rex. And the fact that it is as fast as other Rexes might be die to the insanely high aggression and constant starving putting the Animal under such stress that it is under Adrenaline all the Time. Here's an idea: The red T-rex is actually the first of the seven cloned rexes. He's too big and aggressive for the park, so subsequent rexes were altered to be a bit more docile (not unlike what Dr. Wu proposed in the first book).

The Red Rex is definitely one of the most memorable parts of Trespasser. It is enormous in size and the fact that it alone kind of rules over the ancient mayan ruins just gives it an ominous touch.

Well they discovered a specimen on Tyrannosaurus Rex that was 2 tons larger then Scotty. It’s name is e. d. Cope. A paper is coming out at the end of the year on another Tyrannosaurus Rex specimen named Bertha. Which is larger then Cope supposedly.

There are larger specimens but they are unpublished and might never be accepted publicly,since they are in private collections...iv read of a huge skull and there's photos of some large arm bones way bigger than any known rex..only a few rex specimens are recognized as adults...so many found are clearly sub adults...

I never forgot the red & black king T. Rex, I thought it would’ve been awesome if they included this Rex in Jurassic World Dominion where we would get to see it with the Buck & Doe from the Lost World in the Biosyn Sanctuary as the alpha of the pack, and when he meets Rexy he decides to allow her to become the alpha female of the pack, even if it was just a brief scene it would’ve been awesome. Also Including the Velociraptors from the original trilogy and adding new Velociraptors with color schemes based on JP trespasser all in one pack in the mainland and Blue & Beta end up joining this pack, that would’ve been awesome as a brief scene too, providing closure for both Rexy and Blue stories in Jurassic World Dominion and it would’ve provided fan service. Also my headcanon is that Aztec Rex was supposed to be foreshadowing that the Red & Black alpha T. Rex was destined to appear in JWD.

I like the idea of there being an ultimate Jurassic Park Rex. One that is bigger and scarier but also plays an even better catastrophe role in the events of the game or story. One of the things that made the original Rex of Jurassic Park so terrifying is that it strikes at the perfect moments, its behavior is ambush based (implying that it actually stalks the characters off-screen) and it inflicts serious casualties even on main characters. The moment when injured Malcolm is rescued after the first attack and the Rex bursts out of the trees. A quiet scene suddenly interrupted by the biggest, loudest, most dangerous thing in the park; that scene was 100% nightmare fuel.

HERE IS AN IDEA!: This concept absolutly ROCKS! 💥💥💥 Just imagine the setting...a group exploring Sorna,escaping the aggresive raptors and finding "refuge" in the mayan looking ruins. Someone mentions that "this is an impressive discovery",other saying "i didn't knew Sorna was inhabited before scientists came" just for the classic dino stomps of JP to be felt by the group scaring them and perhaps blaming the volcano activity. As they move entering the ruins even more to get "safer", everything gets quieter and then a massive roar, something familiar between the classic JP T-Rex roar but stronger,gravelly and somewhat "enraged". So loud that the members of the group cover their ears and get low. And then,they feel the tremors again just see this massive bulking red thing walking behind one of the mayan ruin buildings,shattering it as the monster walks through it as if was a sand castle. The massive head of this gigantic red T.Rex emerging from the dust and looking directly at them as if it was a robot,a bird of prey, a killing machine. Then,this monster growls and starts to charge at them. Something like that 😄 I just know that if this thing appears,a bloodbath must follow.

The Red Rex never left much impression on me. My favorite was always the orange rex from the harbor. Playing Trespasser as a ten year old in the late '90s, with the speakers cranked up? That thing was honest to God scary. And glitchy. My brother got it to end up inside a building once. He opened a door on the second story and the rex's head was sticking out of the floor.

The fact that there’s been plenty of aberrations in the animals of Nublar and the islands- this rex and the alpha raptor are prime examples- and not utilized staggers me. The idea that if they DO implement them in the future as movie canon could be done in a way that would make Malcom once again throw his hands out in an “I told you so”. It’s simple- these animals are on the mainland and breeding. Even Rexy now has this opportunity. There could be a rare mutation that happens in the eggs and produces a really big and horrifying animal. Hyper aggressive, very noticeable at a glance- which is usually the last thing you see. I recall the idea of the alpha raptor specifically being born with proto feathers or spines- something that would make it look gnarly alongside its size. The same with the rex. A living breathing dragon. Again. Done right- it could be a horror movie.

I was really hoping the Jurassic World films were going to have Biosyn making there own Dinosaurs. Seeing the classic JP Rex versus a bigger roided up red "Super-Rex" created by Biosyn would have been cool. I’m only just recently finding out about the trespasser game because of your channel. And it would be a hell of a lot of fun to try it out so now that’s something I’m gonna have to figure out in the future. 😃 And it now makes me want the Mattel red Rex release even more. I remember after seeing the red rex I had written a small bit of fanfic about how the red Rex could’ve been the initial test. Where they were trying to get the parameters of size, color, just all of the experimental factors out of the way. And this first one survived because they gave it all the attention literally spare no expense, and John Hammond, at least in the movie version could’ve been very fond of it. Maybe even calling it his hidden gem, maybe saving it as a hopeful future special moment for the park as an unannounced attraction. I think this would be a good way to have Dr. Wu reflect back on that time and maybe that was the very first project he worked with Hammond on.

I would love for this to be a thing, sounds super cool, heck canon wise you could probably even put this after Jurassic World. When Henry is talking about the Indominus, that she will grow bigger than the T-Rex, Rexy... why is that? Maybe they used Red Rex's DNA. I could see this being either a movie or a game, be like JP 2 and 3, trying to escape the island, running through the jungle. The one draw back is... well then it would overlap too much JP2 and 3 then if a movie. However you could remedy this a bit with a whole brand new cast. After the events of JW2, before 3, maybe they're on (you on the team if a game) a scout team trying to relocate all the dinosaurs off Isla Sorna. They tag baby Rex now grown up, the parents, easy. However a few more remain, and your team ventures into the jungle to find them. Supposedly the data suggests a 5th Rex is on the island, as bones found show the 4th one was killed by something (the one fighting the Spinosaurus in JP3), so only this last one remains, in the deepest parts of the island. However no other teams have confirmed this, returned when they went to scout, there are also suspicious raptors up there, and various other unknowns (maybe could throw in the Therizinosaurus). Monitoring via cams, drones, and helicopter while surveying around this part of the jungle noted even the Spinosuarus wouldn't venture there, while chasing a Parasaurolyphus to the border of this dense foliage, it stopped suddenly... and backed away slowly. No evidence of the Para leaving was ever recorded. When the apex predator of the island is spooked, something foul is afoot. So your team is going to investigate, knock out, and bring any dinosaurs located in the deepest parts of the island back. Things go awry per usual, all coms down, and the team has been trapped there for a week now, they have 3 days left, then the last ship with the last dinosaurs leaves the island. You don't make it back... you're trapped there with Red Rex and those raptors, and whatever else haunts the island forever. Obviously sounds more like a plot for a game, but I could see it working as a movie too. Maybe different versions of the movie with different endings air, be cool, bring us back to days of urban legends before it spreads too quickly that movies have multiple endings. Sorry thinking with my gamer brain for a 2nd, but 1st thoughts the 17th Colossus from Shadow of the Colossus, Mew under the Truck, the playground urban legends. Even as a movie, I think that could work, and it'd make people want to watch the movie multiple times to see what is different, buy more tickets, try to get in on the right day to see the alternate endings. Because it's a brand new cast of characters... who knows who can live, no plot armor, everyone could live, everyone could die, thus bringing it back to Jurassic Park's horror roots, that JW2 tried to do. That's where the alternate movie footage could play in if it was a movie. One showing some of the cast making it, another showing them not, maybe a 3rd showing some making it. I don't know, I think this could 100% be made into a thrilling movie just as much as it could a game.

I think I'm the only person who noticed an early pattern, since we only got 6 movies and each 3 are part of the same troligy, but the pattern here is how each movie somewhat mirror each other, the one that mirrors the original JP movie believe it or not is Fallen kindgdom , and the first JW movie actually mirrors JP3 while JWD mirrors TLW, here is how: FK and JP1 : both had human size dinosaurs antagonists in the form of the big one and the IndoRaptor JW and JP3 : both had the super Thoropad in the form of Irex and Spino JWD and TLW: both tried to treat dinosaurs as actual animals and had no hybrids or a super tharopod if Universal decided to make a new trilogy then maybe a super T-rex like the Red rex or a Black Tyranno could be used as a super Tharopod in one of the movies as an antagonist

It may not be a live action version of it, but the mobile game Jurassic World Alive recently released an Omega level creature based on the red Rex. It is a "'93 classic Tyrannosaurus rex," though I call it omega rex, myself. It's a powerhouse of a creature.

Imagine it as a Biosyn attempt of making a T-rex that was better than Ingen's but in the process unintentionally made it massive and way more aggressive to the point they couldn't control it so they dumped somewhere to be forgotten about and it almost becomes like a crypid like beast that people talked about but no one ever seen it in person...or seen it than lived to tell about it afterwards Have it be like the DC2 T-rex, btu combined with DC2 Giga that is so obsessed in hunting down the protagonist who couldn't do anything, but run from it

Rewatched this video for the umpteeth time. The Alpha Tyrannosaurus Rex is just so awesome: it's apparently notably more massive than Rexy, it's very likely even more powerful and aggressive than the Buck, and it has such a metal red-black appearance to go with it - really gives off the impression of being both an imposing king and a brutal killer. It also reminds me a lot of the Primal Carnage Tyrannosaurus Rex, which also is red & black in colour, and was also just absolutely massive and overpowered in its own right. Hopefully, we'll get more super-giant, ridiculously overpowered Tyrannosaurus in dinosaur movies that are menacingly red in colour; that has become my favourite colour design for any menacing, aggressive, juggernaut T-Rex that's meant to brutalize and obliterate any opponent it comes across.

The Red Rex is basically Diablo from Primal Rage.

I saw a video that the original novel rex was actually standing upright since how Crichton described it how big it was plus the time period makes more sense also Wu was trying to make them slower and dumber but he never said that it was standing diffrently wich makes me belive the jp novel rex walked with its tail on the ground and like the kangaroo posture and Spielberg is the one that made the rex look like today with the posture and they said in the video also that when tim was talking about the lenght of the rex spine in the museum thats inacurate bc we dont actuallly know how many vertibrate rex had ( on an unralated note a youtuber named dinofax made a short horror story called the hunt wich has a paleo accurate rex and the story its self feels alot like the jp novels its great anyone that likes dino horror should look it up )

This would definitely be badass to see on the big screen. Rexy is giving chase...then we hear the much deeper, bellowing roar. Rexy looks around "Nope!". Runs out of there just before "Big Red" shows up. Yes....his name is Big Red in my head. I'm Texan...fight me!

I really hope in the next JP film it’s a prequel set on site b or even nublar pre JP1 with Biosyn tryna take charge and steal Dino dna. With this large red Rex that’s bigger than 17 ft tall and 44 ft long. Maybe I. Rex or at least Giga size. That would introduce a new big bad but have it still be a Rex.

There are near rex specimens believed to be 44-ish feet long, but you’re not going to get a 17-foot-tall theropod unless it’s standing upright. I think the biggest T. rex/giga so far is something like 14 feet at the hips. What they needed to do is just not make the giga 2 feet taller and much heavier than it was in real life, and not make Rexy look 3-4 tons smaller than she would have been in real life.

@@bluemarlin8138 yeah for me personally that’s why I always preferred the JP version over reality. It simply looks cooler. The height of the real Rex is always disappointing to me I never understood why people say “at the hip” like how tall would the Rex be “at the head” is more interesting at least to me. I think it’s around 14’5-14’10 ft at the head if it’s say close to 14ft at hip given say sues (a close to complete skeleton) stature
