I would want Gladys to actually fall in love with the Duke. He's not a bad guy. I'd like a Robert - Cora reality. He needed her money but he fell in love with her and they're happy. So if she does marry him let it be that way. She's too sweet to have her land in a nasty environment.

15 years ago a season was 24 episodes then it was 20 then 14 now 8. It now takes two years for those 8 episodes. Hard to see how the industry expects people to remain interested. Some of these shows are good but hard to get excited when there are so few episodes and so much time between them. Its like oh yea I used to watch that. I think it was good can't really remember it though.,

Thanks for the Gilded Age for some of the stories with African American. So, glad they are showing the progressiveness of African American in that time frame. I myself went to Tuskegee Institute and graduated in the 1970th. I don’t see the pride in the African American community as far as fashion, social, or education that we had in those days. We took the time to better ourselves by taking care of ourself, physically , mentally and socially. I pray America will stop trying to pull us down but lift us up.

I think that this show is the best thing on television. I have visited most of the guided age mansions and love the stories and history of the families that lived in them. While the characters of the show are only loosely based on these families, I do think the writers have certainly captured the period and events that surrounded these famous families beautifully. Beside the writing on this show, the sets are simply spectacular, they evoke the feeling one gets when walking through the real mansions and rival most any cinematic movie production. I do love the Russells and how well they portray the Nuevo Riche families of the era like the Vanderbilts in their struggles to obtain acceptance in high society families of the day. The writers and the actors truly bring this family to life. Having said that, I do also feel that the most all the actors on this show have been so well curated that every single one of them can step before the camera at a moments notice and completely chew up the scenery. Great writing, great acting, great show!

Yes, I love it - I especially enjoy sharing ideas with others about it. I want to know how the Russells resolve their problems. I would hope Bertha’s character evolves into a less self involved person, thinking more about giving what she can to help everyone move forward into a productive community.

Fan from the beginning. I do find the long wait between seasons very frustrating. This goes for many streaming shows and it’s regrettable. Hard to maintain interest in new season when years pass and so many new shows compete for viewers attention. I’ve definitely abandoned shows I enjoyed bc of the wait. That will not happen with Gilded Age. I’m looking forward to its new season no matter when it appears. Engrossing and enjoyable and not to be left behind.

I absolutely love the Gilded Age and agree this show like so many other shows it’s too far between each season. I love the interaction and the smartness between everybody. I love that they’re bringing in more individuals to spice up everything. I don’t want to see the Russell have any problems because they make an excellent team. I do believe there should be a wedding by the end of the season.

Hello!!! Why is no one speaking about this show!!! I have just finished season 2!! And I was blown away!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 My word!! This was entertainment at its best!!! So many plots and subplots and twists, beautiful characters, character development and great acting!!! Amazing to see lovely fresh faces! As well as some legends in the mix! Loved every second of this epic series! Also although I haven’t fact checked everything I loved the bits of history that have been seamlessly woven into the storylines… ah man!! IMO, it is a lovely series. The two things that are missing is that Louisa Jacobson can’t quite carry of the cheekiness in Julian Fellowes dialogue for ms Marian Brooke, and that not a thing is explained about the background of mr & mrs Russell. I say this because as I am rewatching both seasons, knowing full well how season two ends, I absorb more of the nuances of ms Marian Brooke & it is not hard to imagine that in taking on Meryl Streeps daughter, JW had hoped for a character development akin to a more subdued lady Mary - and LJ can’t quite carry that - at least not yet. Hoping for more from her in season 3! The lack of a background for the Russels is harder to explain away. At least something along the lines of where they went to school and/or if they had their parents permission when they married, and how many years they’ve been married SHOULD have been included. It’s just a bit overly superficial on details. Edit: ✍️ Oh & I love the king of England being cast as a butler this time around - bribeable by means of $100 to booth ! 😂

HUGE fan! Loved Downton Abbey as well - this, to me, is the Americanized and painlessly historical version. Recently binge-watched the first 2 seasons - LOVED the slight feminist slant - just enough without preaching. The Russells are the STEAMIEST couple around (without being fashion-magazine gorgeous and twenty-something). I will probably wait until the full Season 3 is available and binge-watch again. Can't get enough!

Huge fan. If you've read up on the real families the plot is loosely based on, Gladys may very well marry the Duke and lead an unhappy life. And Bertha and George may be headed for divorce, which will make us all super sad. Polish up on the real history of the Astors, Vanderbilts, Roosevelts, Carnegies, Morgans and the like to get a better feel for this era. I also love that some of the fashions are based on real life garments that exists and portraits done by John Singer Sargent. They are doing this show so well. It's amazing.

It's taken so long to put on another season, I thought they had been cancelled. I'm thrilled to know there is another season on the way. I just hope they've upgraded the jewelry. The previous seasons' gems were clearly plastic and paste. Go to New York and rent the real thing from Cartier, Garrard, Tiffany's and Harry Winston. If you credit them at the end of each episode, they'll throw themselves at your feet.

I am an absolute fanatic with every aspect of this show. Although I have to be 100% honest. While they paid finite detail to the rise of the classes, both old money and new as well as the affluent African-American community; there is one area where they have severely overlooked, and I would even say neglected. During this time, there was a massive explosion and institutions for the physically disabled and persons with learning and or mental impairment. Please don’t shoot the messenger, but at this time in history, we were defined as, (retarded and or intellectually/physically inferior). This aspect of life, especially with New York City needs to be written into the show. I am an adult female with Sarabel palsy spastic quadriplegia, and I work with a survivor of the notorious Staten Island institution Willowbrook. This incredible man’s name is Bernard Cabello and he founded the organization on one of the boards which I set. In 1986 some 15 years after his release from that snake pit, as Geraldo Rivera called it. Bernard founded the self advocacy association of New York State (SANYS.

I emailed HBO and told them to please renew this excellent show- most of their other programming is what the French called le crap. Agnes does not have the financial hammer that she did. Great cast! I’m glad they showed black people with financial means. I wonder if they could get the first self made millionaire- madam ( hair care products) introduced. This show is rich with story lines.
