Hitchcock’s genius in filming an innocent man caught in a legal trap in search of his reprieve to wit a love story to boot is self evident here ! Hitchcock shines Thanks for sharing this epic gem a first cousin to The 39 Steps

But as a woman and artist I have to add, today, I love running to my corner Bodega for breakfast in my pj bottoms-No muss, no fuss, and no need for a blooming corset ugh AND NO HAVING TO DRESS FOR OTHERS, ESPEC. Clothing wasn't any cheaper then than it is today relative to income; what _was_ cheaper was fabric for sewing your own clothing...today, fabric is extremely overpriced, with Asian readymade imports made with low-quality fabrics, the cheaper option.

I cannot believe this is one of Alfred Hitchcock’s movies. It’s pretty good so far. I normally do not like when they colorize movies, however, this one didn’t come out so bad I would still like it in black-and-white though. Debra Bader.❤

Hitchcock as a young man LOVED English music hall and he filled this film with comic bit parts for music hall actors that still are delicious - from the pessimistic lawyer blind without his glasses, the little boy pumping gas, the two policemen at the old mill and on and on.

I knew there was no way that I could get through 10 comments before being forced to endure another one of these negative naggers. Why do people have this compulsion to bitch so much about modern movies in such a robotic way? The exact words are 100% predictable. Everything old is perfect and nothing new has any value. Why even bother, when we all know that every 5th comment will be identical anyway?
