Yes I know what you mean. I am doing some renovation and thinking of laying floor like this. Is it this easy? I was debating doing it myself or paying a contractor. The rooms in my house are not perfectly square or perfectly level and so I am worried about getting the edges to look good and without leaving any gaps.

When I was young, my parents rented an apartment with terrible walls. My dad fixed up himself just like this girl did. Then the real estate agent increased the rent, even though all the labour and materials were purchased by my family. It was so unfair. My father said to me “… the world is so unfair. You be a lawyer when you grow up!…” to me. And I did become a lawyer but that’s another story.

Did he see the inside of your house? You should treat estate agents like they're lepers. They shouldn't get in no matter what. Estate agents in my country don't do that though. They can wait until you move to hike the rent, but they do try to steal your security deposit if you made changes.
