hello here the person you got inspired to do this project. How is it going with your project?

Hey, awesome to see you here! I've pretty much got the voice recognition and movement systems figured out, right now I'm trying to find time to finish painting it and then mount it on the ceiling fan. Most likely I will upload a few more videos of other things before part 2. What have you been up to since your last video?

@@bcikablam3578 Looking forwart to the video ;) well alot and also not a lot actoly. When i made it is was still going to school so i had a lot of time. Nowadays less (work) My glados still works and use it every day. But never finised the body. I have now a etsy shop (hobby) that keeps my bussy. But im planning to start working on a small glados for my new sleeping room.

Yes, I think I'll make a video of the final thing after my next video, assuming that I can get it properly tuned... It's fully assembled but unfortunately the saltwater capacitor bank makes tuning it a nightmare

@@bcikablam3578 Saltwater? That does sound like a nightmare. How are you dealing with the chlorine problem?
@bcikablam35782 жыл бұрын
@@robertwattermann7787 Well, since they're capacitors and there's not a substantial amount of AC passing through them, chlorine doesn't get generated fortunately. Although if it did, I bet the spark gap would still generate far more toxic ozone than chlorine since electrolysis rate is (roughly) proportional to current, and the HV system only produces a few milliamps (at several thousand volts) However I do have a layer of vegetable oil on top of the saltwater to prevent evaporation, and I wonder if any electrochemical reactions contributed to that oil starting to go bad... I'm looking into just replacing the whole thing with a solid state capacitor bank to avoid all this, since it's only a few nF at 20kv

@@bcikablam3578 Oh makes sense. I guess that's a much different story then the time I hooked up a sketchy DIY battery bank to an even more sketchy Tupperware electrolysis system using saltwater. I smelled something funny and decided to do some research before continuing. Learning by doing I guess! P.S. Famous last words: "At least ozone smells good!"

@@robertwattermann7787 I did run one of the prototype systems inside without ventilation once, and I got used to the ozone smell but after a while I started coughing and getting lightheaded so I stopped and since then I've done it outside for mostly that reason
